[Being what he is, Rex has already eaten half the pizza and the sound of something else moving around in the branches doesn't earn his attention all that quickly, not when there's still half a pie left. Oh, he knows something else is there. Six trained him a bit too well to be oblivious to that, but in this case it's more a matter of priorities. It's probably some small woodland creature. Nothing to be concerned about.]

[It's when he feels eyes on him that Rex finally stops and glances over, a fresh slice of pizza in one hand and just inches from his mouth.]

[One eyebrow arches a bit. That's a mutant turtle, though clearly not one as grown up at Mike. Huh.]

Hey, little dude. Uh...you want some pizza?

[Intently studying that slice of pizza in the human's hand, trying to decide what that bit of topping might be near the crust, the little turtle is rather startled when Rex takes notice of him. He had attempted to be quiet, but it would seem that, as usual, his ninja skills are not quite on par with his brothers. Donatello freezes up tensely as Rex first looks at him with a flicker of anxiety, but when he speaks to him, the child eases before ducking his head forward, feeling a little abashed.]

...you're not scared of me?

[Not the response Rex was expecting, but it's not entirely surprising, either. Honestly the thought of people running from a pint-sized, talking turtle strikes the EVO as completely ridiculous, but he can easily see it happening.]

Nope. You're a talking turtle wearing a bandanna. Where I'm from that'd actually be pretty tame.

Another one!? But I didn't go through the Gate! [Glenn shook his head, wincing.] It was confusing enough just trying to deal with the concept of two worlds. Now you're asking me to deal with three?

[He looks over his shoulder at the gate Nash indicated.] It's never that easy, is it? [Said tiredly, then he looks back to Nash, frowning faintly.]

What do you mean, 'not the same'?

[ The boy's tears stop immediately as he stares at Rex wide-eyed for a brief few seconds... ]

He proceeds to run away and hide. Though he's still nearby and it's not a very good hiding spot. ]

Three? So...you're used to the whole multiple world...thing. Kind of.

[Nash scratches the back of his head. Ah, this part's never easy nor all that fun to explain.]

We~ll... You see, you've "Woken up" here, which would imply that you'd been dreaming prior to. Going back won't feel the same. You'll be able to see everything of your world and what you do, but it will be more like you're just watching yourself doing things rather than actually actively making yourself do them. Oh, but it's still you doing everything, of course.

[Rex blinks as the kid bolts for cover, not giving chase right away when he sees the little guy duck into a hiding place nearby. He rubs at the side of his neck, trying to figure on a way to approach this situation. Clearly this kid scared out of his mind already and someone he doesn't know being around isn't really helping.]

[Starting forward, Rex walks toward toward the spot where he saw the newcomer go into hiding, careful to keep his footfalls audible so his approach can be heard. He then stops a few feet shy and crouches down.]

Hey... You don't have to be scared of me. I'm not gonna hurt you, okay? I know this is a big, new place and it can be kinda scary at first, but everything will be alright.

[Darkstar has been walking around Nautilus looking for a quick bite. He picks up a mana signature he never thought he would expect. He didn't know the owner personally, but it was enough of a familiar jolt of home that he thought he would investigate.]

[Her tone is more wary than it is hostile.]

Onslaught? That sounds like you, but you look a bit different than I remember.

A time of solace, meditation, and prayer is all this towering, tall, red bearded man, with a long scar under his right eye, accenting his cheek down, asked for in light of Brother Aidan's arrival and Brendan's disobedience. A calm, candle lit monastery is what he is surrounded by, his strong faith in the wall being the one thing to guard the villagers from the Vikings, pagans, crom worshippers...and in meditation, he hears the Call. When he opens his eyes, he is at the gate. The Abbot momentarily looks one direction to the other, and it's clear...he's awoken.

[Although he is surprised by the explanation, the turtle is still quite grateful that he hadn't scared the human. It brings out a smile as he relaxes his shoulders, staying crouched while balancing there with his four toes curled against the bark.]

Oh, that's good. Well...for me at least.

[Social interaction? Wat do?]

Um...I didn't mean to bother you. I just really wanted to see what kind of pizza that was.

[Her eyes narrow at him, a warning. She's not letting her guard down but she's not going to provoke a rise either.]

Sweet! I'll dip into my collection of winged cadavers, but for the gnomes I'm going to need a preteen girl in a quirky sweater and a puzzle-obsessed nerd who carries a gun but hardly ever uses it.
