Lelouch's thoughts on Pitch are complicated. He does not like the things Pitch did back when he attacked the city, particularly twisting people's memories to control them and causing Rex's death. That being said, there is a long history of people in Nautilus who did awful things upon arriving but ultimately changed for the better, though others just continued to be awful. Lelouch saw a glimmer of Pitch's potential to change for the better, and perhaps even his desire not to be alone in two ways initially: Dib's steadfast belief that there was good in Pitch and Pitch's willingness to risk himself for the sake of Seraphina. He feels that what he did to Pitch for that week was enough to settle things, both in terms of keeping other people from coming after him and in terms of him paying for what he did. Since then, Lelouch has been keeping an eye on him, mostly from a distance. More things have emerged to suggest a positive direction of Pitch's change--Rex forgiving him, Pitch Ascending and proving that his change is not just an illusion, and even his seeming friendship with Megamind after everything that happened between the two of them. All combined, that has given Lelouch a reason to give Pitch a fair chance. They aren't friends, but Lelouch no longer considers Pitch an enemy either. He certainly appreciates his strategic manner of thinking and enjoys their chess matches, though Lelouch is not sure where things will go beyond that. He feels that they could work together if they needed to, though it would probably be awkward.
