There's a young woman wandering the streets of Nautilus, acting a little oddly. With her plain black blouse and below the knee light gray, woolen skirt, there's nothing strange about her appearance by the standards of people back home. Rather, it's the way her booted feet tremble and stumble as if not used to walking, the way she has to use buildings for support, and then her wonder at the stone of the buildings, at the sight of each and every thing, that leave her staring wide-eyed at the world.

Given her pale complexion, one wouldn't be blamed for thinking she'd never seen the light of day before. But that would just be ridiculous, right?
