At the sonic device, a screwdriver no less, Rose shut her mouth, thinking quickly. "How did you--? Those factories were destroyed, he put a banana grove there now instead." Or so he'd said, but Jack had also mentioned how the factories were destroyed, and while he'd been somewhat incredulous to the banana grove... he hadn't completely denied it outright either. It WAS a very Doctor-y thing to do.
Which meant only one thing. They had to be a Time Traveler, like Jack and the Doctor. Which also meant, that Danger sense was right all along. Bugger.
"I was warned about you," Rose stuck her chin up defiantly, possibly trying to prove her bravery to herself, more than River, or the Master, as River probably was. The Doctor said there weren't any Time Lords he wanted to see here, which meant, as far as Rose was concerned, River was almost definitely the Master. Possibly Rassilon but River hadn't been tyrannical about the tea... although a little about everything else, really, it could go either way. But since the screwdriver was the Doctor's go-to "weapon" of choice, it seemed more likely to be the Master.
"But that's all right, even if you kill me, I'll come back and get a chance to warn everyone else. You might be a top Time Lord where you're from, but that means very little here, yeah?" She was running on pure adrenaline now, ignoring her "run" instincts even though it was always what the Doctor would have told her to do, and fully into fight mode now. Which made her feisty enough for the rest. "And what kind of a name is 'The Master' or Rassilon anyway? Bit conceited, don't you think? At least the Doctor sounds like someone who just wants to help people. Because he does, you know. But I'm not telling you either way if he's here. So kill me and find out. And don't think you can hold me hostage either, because maybe he's not here," in which case how was she warned? But Rose didn't think about that part, "And maybe he is, but only cares about me like a shield, so there." Because if she was going to go down, she was going to go down verbally swinging.
