He allows for the hand holding for a full minute before he realises what she's doing. Hey, at least Rose got a minute out of him.

"Stop holding my hand, people don't do that to me."

He more or less twists his hand until it's free.

"Besides, I am quite capable of running without the hand-holding."

And with that, he flashes a grin and takes off. She might notice some differences, though. He's more purposed in his running. And it's, sort of safer than what she might be used to. And of course, there's the lack of hand-holding.
