She studied her. "That wasn't a promise. And if you decide to tell him or Rose any of this, you could undo what I have been working for since my arrival and then the life that needs to be saved, will not be saved."

She crossed her arms and leaned back despite there being no backing behind her. She didn't fall. "This is important, River, perhaps the most important thing I have ever done in my long life. And" she regarded her gravely, "have I ever actually asked you for help?"

"Spoilers," she repeated flatly, then shook her head. "Maybe that would fly with the Doctor, but not with me, River. We're talking about the Doctor. Do you mean not by his choice, or not by ours?"

Or he's worried about you endangering yourself.

[River had been yelled at numerous times over her life by the Doctor. True, a lot of it was probably justified over some of the rather drastic and seemingly brash things she's done over her life... but, he still yelled. It showed he cared enough to pay attention.]

Whether he wants to admit it or not, he needs someone to make sure he doesn't go overboard and sacrifice himself for something silly.

[She smirks slightly.]

Depends on the personal question.

[As always, she waited for him to speak. A glance told her he was much older now. Though, not quite as old as the last time she saw him. But then again... he was still within this regeneration. The one she married and arguably, the one she loved the most out of all his faces both past and future.

This was a moment she knew they needed to cherish, one that neither of them were meant to have judging by the way she parted with him last...And River always made the most of her moments with The Doctor.]

It's been awhile, though, I don't think we need to compare diaries this time around.

River still wasn't going to bite. Instead, she crossed her arms and didn't answer for several long moments.

"You've never earned my trust either." A pointed observation. "Whether I help you or not is completely up to what you're trying to accomplish to begin with and just how badly it might mess him up." She loved causing a bit of trouble, but... there were limits. If Me wasn't careful, she might just find what those limits were.

And why River was feared by more than just the Daleks.

"I had to try." She smiled slightly as her steps paused for a moment. There was no harm in telling her, was there? What will happen... will happen. It was a fixed point, something that could not be re-written no matter how much she or The Doctor wished it.

"... It's complicated Mother." She started walking again.

"Weeping Angels made it complicated."

"And informing you of that is something I will only do if I had your word. I suppose we will continue on our own then, and you and I can both only hope I succeed."

"Yes, you had to try," she acknowledged with a nod. Then she drew a breath at the answer. "Weeping Angels. No handy crack to toss the lot of them into thi.... the one in my eye? Because I could remember it, somehow... it came back?" she asked softly. She... she had become an Angel herself? "Rory.... tell me I didn't...." If she had even tried to hurt Rory, she hoped River had had the strength and foresight to smash her to bits while she was locked in place to keep him safe. Oh please... please don't let her have killed Rory....

There were two paths laid out before River. Agree to Me's promise and find out what she was up to and then do as she will with the information, or, two. Take the long way around figuring out just what Me was up to.

It really depended on just how much of a headache she wanted later in regards to her wayward husband's past selves.

"Chances are whatever you're trying to do will fail without someone that knows how to handle them. So, the real question is, how much do you want my help."

"Honestly, quite a bit, but not enough to risk everything. I will still hep you here of course, but that is a separate entity having everything to do with my dislike of Rose Tyler." And her wanting to have someone to talk to that know who the blazes she was, but she wasn't about to admit that.

Even to herself.

Of course she would think of that moment. It was the last time she dealt with Weeping Angel's from her point in time, wasn't it. River shook her head, hoping to relieve Amy's fears.

"Hardly. That thing was erased from time itself. Unless you're a certain Doctor, there's no coming back from that." Even then, he had a bit of help.

"You didn't do anything to Rory. You lived out your life with him right until your eighties." She fell silent after that.

"Until our..." well that was a relief, but something wasn't adding up. "The Angels... sent us back? Both of us, at the same time? Or were we already in our eighties when they found us?" Had they been traveling with the Doctor that long?

Rose was here? River wasn't too sure how to take that. Admittedly, Rose was before she was even born and River would be a hypocrite if she threw a fit about any relationship outside hers and the doctor....

But, it did complicate things a little. "Rose is here? Part of him must be over the moon about that. Or sulking somewhere in the depths of the TARDIS."

"She is, and he seems to think that halfwit little runaway is in any way shape or form right for him. I've honestly been hoping that you would show up so he could see what a proper match for him looks like."

Protective big sister vibes, much?

She took a breath and set her shoulders. "Rose and I do not get along, I assure you this animosity is very much mutual. But then at the moment, I think the Doctor is close to hating Me as well. And while that was my original aim, given that I failed then, succeeding now when I have a different plan in mind is more than a little bit irritating. It is working hard at chess only to get checkmate when you and everyone else has moved on to checkers." She huffed out a bit of a sigh and sipped her wine.

"They sent Rory back to 1930s New York City. You let them take you so the two of you could be together." That wasn't the complete story by far, but, enough to hopefully satisfy her mother.

"Thing is, the Weeping Angels made a mess of time around New York City. We were locked out of coming for the both of you so, the Doctor had no choice but to leave both of you there to live out your lives."

She considered that for a moment. It sounded like something she'd do, at least something she'd hope she'd be brave enough to do, so she nodded and hoped she wasn't buying a lie. "Alright, makes sense... except, why couldn't he have come back for us after the damaged point in time? Or sent us boat tickets from London or something?"

In a way, the 'protective big sister vibes' were every hilarious and something River would definitely be laughing over later. Right now, she was beginning to feel too amused to stay mad at Me.

"Your idea for a proper match for him just so happens to be a psychopath that was originally trained and conditioned to kill him." Admittedly, that DID make her quite the match for him in more ways than one.

"I can also see your first mistake. As much as you don't like Rose, you already made your opinion known and if I know The Doctor and trust me, I know what him in love is like, then that definitely killed your plans before you even started."

River went quiet at that. Good questions, but... she wasn't going to like the answer. "Time Paradoxes and fixed points."

"Tuesdays always did give you trouble." A very familiar voice comes from behind him. River had just rounded the corner and saw a very familiar face to say the very least.

"Hello Sweetie, miss me?"

[Laughs.] Well, yeah, that too. But most people are like that, yeah? [Both saccrificing themselves, and going overboard, and yelling at others for endangering themselves.]

Mm, how'd you meet the Doctor, if you don't mind my askin' then, yeah? I always find it so fascinatin'. Never the same way twice, even though there's wot, a googleplex of people out there? Infinite.

Not always.

[There was only one man she would ever think of sacrificing herself for.. no one else even got that much considerations, save her parents.

However, Rose's question made River laugh. Which time? She thought about it for a moment.]

The first time I met him, I tried to kill Hitler.

[Or, at least, that's when this version of her first met him. Now the question was, when did he first meet her? That's something she doubted Rose would think to ask.]

[Nope, Rose asks different questions, she's not Bill.] What, really? Some sort of spy mission thing? When you say tried, you mean he stopped ya? Didja ever meet Captain Jack Harkness?

Which version of the Doctor was it? The bowtie, right? [She doesn't think to mention the one with the recorder, having now been able to fit him as "2."]

[Well wasn't she full of questions. River admitted, it was funny that she was being so inquisitive when there was only so much she could tell her.]

Not in the slightest. He had a time machine, I had a gun and thought, 'What the hell, why not'. As for stopping me, yes and no.

As for Jack, well, I've definitely heard of him.

[She smirks a little. Get the two of them in a room together and there would be some seriously entertaining flirting.]

Yes, the one with the bow tie and I swear if he's still trying to pull of a fez, I will gladly shoot it off his head.

What, why? Fezes are fun!

[Pauses....]

[And dons a fez herself.]

Abu wears a fez. Maybe the Doctor just wanted to blend in with the apes better.

Wait. You had a gun, and you want to shoot it off him... are you joking with all that? Because he kept replacing Jack's guns with bananas. And Jack's not even really American, he's from the future. And the biggest thing Ten fights with Papa Dirk about is the guns thing. And the only time he yelled at me was because durin' a storm I was playing with a toy laser tag gun.

You didn't try to trick him with the Hitler thing, did you? Because I didn't go with him just for that, for the time travelin', but the minute he thought I did--

You really would get used to him yellin' at you then, yeah... Wow. [SIDE EYES SLIGHTLY. MIGHT BE PINGING FOUR WITH A "DANGEROUS WOMAN YOUR FUTURE WIFE IS PROBABLY BEST LEFT TO YOUR FUTURE AND NOT EVEN ME."]

[River just smiles and raises an eyebrow. Rose has no idea how accurate that 'dangerous woman' ping is. ]

Of course I had a gun. I always carry a gun and trust me, he gets used to it after awhile.

[Though, he did replace her gun with a banana once..why do you think Hitler lived through their encounter.]

Besides, He enjoys the fact that I'm just as dangerous as he is. Or, he will. And I'm not joking about shooting it off his head. I've already shot a Stetson off, a fez would be just as easy and equally hard to miss.

[Especially for someone who is such a crack shot like she is.]

As for the Hitler thing, well. Lets just say it was a very eventful trip and he didn't have a choice at the time. I can be very persuasive.
