Billy paled a little, but he was willing to try it. "I was actually afraid of fish for a long time, but now's as good a time as any to fully conquer it."

He'd fished once before, with his friends as support. He could do it again. "That means I have to bend a fishing rod, right?

"Afraid of fish? But fish are DELICIOUS!!!!"

He grinned. "No rod. We just need a stick and some string. I'll teach you the best way to catfish in this or anyworld. Just stick with me, I promise I'm not stringing you along." Innocent grin.

Billy had to laugh despite himself. What an interesting fellow.

"Sticks are plentiful. String...I think I lack, and I'm not sure I trust my bending ability yet. But I will if I must."

"Vines make for good string; so long as they're strong, they work just vine!"

"Perfect. It shouldn't be long."

And after testing several branches for sturdiness, then tying his strongest knot around the end, he had something that resembled a fishing rod.

"I guess I'll need a needle and bait?"

"Now you're just needling me. Vines and branches are all we need. Ocean is this way," he said, nodding with his head before jumping onto a rock and springing from there onto his shoulder. "Onward!"

Then a grin. "I could walk, but I chose to ride....in steed. Hope that's okay...." Grin.

That was a fine joke. Billy shrugged and smiled, adjusting to the weight on his shoulder before setting off.

"It's fine. It's been a while since I've seen an ocean."

He stuck to the trail ahead, listening for the sound of waves and breathing in. The scent of salt in the air would lead him, and yes...there it was. The open space and light were very welcome.

"All right. What's the best fishing spot?"

He glanced to one side, seeing The All Blue there, then jumped down and led away from it. He still wasn't quite ready to face people who knew him.

Once they were far enough away he nodded. "Alright, now tie one end of the vine to the branch."

"I can do that, at least."

Billy's knot was quick, firm, and slightly complicated. Strong enough to hold in a current.

"And they'll bite the vine?"

"Go fish!" he said with a grin, meaning "nope" "Now you tie the other end around my middle!" Yes, he is serious.
