Don't you see, that was the problem. I wasn't meant to be helping anyone. Non-interference means just that. I was to take no action whatsoever and moreso I shouldn't even have been there in the first place. It's a very narrow-minded way of thinking. [ In his opinion, of course. The Time Lords would have their own views on the matter. ] As for your memories, I do think they meant it as a kindness. If you and Zoe had remembered traveling with me it might have been more difficult to return as seamlessly into your own timelines as you did. [ He bobbed his head acknowledging something Jamie had mentioned earlier. ] They did take into account that our goals had often helped people. Exile to Earth was one of the lesser possible punishments.

[That's a...fairly specific thing to stay away from, and while Jamie knows there's likely some reason why he should, he can't imagine what that might be.]

What do some old statues have to do with us being safe? And what's the door got to do with it?

[ Oh Jamie, how he'd missed you and that simple confused 'hey' sound of yours! ] Well for the moment the door is keeping them out there and us safe in here. [ This more basic of door operations brought to you by one cheeky Doctor. ;) ] The creature that chased you in here was a weeping angel statue. They aren't just old statues they come alive when you aren't looking at them and can move at incredible speeds. Fortunately just one of them isn't enough to take that door down. For all it's flaws this welcome house was built rather sturdily.
