"Right. Inconvenient. Not that you hate the river or anything. Just inconvenient." He was able to resist rolling his eyes at that, because it wasn't just inconvenient. Markus knew that much, but he wouldn't push that one. There was a time and place to push, it was a delicate balance. Not everything needed to be pushed.

"I know how to use the stove." Markus chuckled at that, who did Connor think he was talking to? "Between the two of us, I'm sure the place won't burn down." He pauses.

"Is that a normal function for you to have? Cooking? I know why I know how to do that, but you're not a caretaker. Back home, at least."
