Irene's patrols were fairly standard, nowadays. The disappearance of the EVOs had made things a lot easier; now the standard fare of monsters came down to either the giant spiders to the west, or the weeping angels to the north. She'd been careful enough with both, but still, they did need checking on every now and then.

She was gliding over the grounds near the brink of the eastern district, the very border between east and west. Her swords were sheathed for now, and she hoped she wouldn't need them.

A new arrival wandering around, to be sure. Those were about a dime a dozen every couple of months or so - Sleeping, Waking, the cycle thrummed on - but there was a familiarity about this one that struck the guardian to her core and froze it.
