Wow I had forgotten. It has been way too long.

She whistled. "Alright, that is pretty bad. Nothing that we can't fix." she wasn't even aware she said we, yet. "But you know what makes you different from the sort who DOES truly deserve to rot? You want to fix it, you're working on fixing it. Makes all the difference in all the worlds."

She was thinking hard, though, an odd glint coming into her eyes. If they could lower the toxicity in the soil they could gene-splice some hardier plants to get that part restarted. Water... she could build a filter, the question would be what to do with what it filtered out. The hardest part was probably the extinct species. Even recreating them as monster-trees wouldn't be exactly the same... but it could come close.
