This...isn't spam, or lulz, or a meme, but I wasn't sure if it was 'official' enough to post in the OOC comm, since it's just me going 'GUYZ HALP I'M PATHETIC'.

...So, um, on that note. Guys. I need your help.

Ever since I've started at the Wake, I've tried to keep track of tags and threads just by going through my e-mail. This system is clearly inadequate and utterly stupid, and my head isn't on screwed on straight enough to keep up with the mess that is my inbox. I've finally decided to apply a strategy from my real life; if I'm anal and make lots of lists that I can check off, I get crap done. Really, it's apparantly super-effective. I make straight As because of it.

So I made a list. Or...am making.

But this has stirred up a problem I've been avoiding for far too long - ever since...geez, I guess CoG, I've completely fallen apart on log posts, and I've been using that as an excuse to not get involved in other logs. It's like a completely unamazing domino effect of fail.

So all I need to know from you guys is this - if I have EVER been in a log (or a thread, but I'm especially worried about logs right now) with Sora and one of your characters, and you would be interested in finishing it, I'd be incredibly grateful if you would let me know here or on that post. If you aren't interested in doing so, that's also completely okay - I'm only doing this so that I can get a bit more organized and know for sure what I should be focusing on at the moment.

Anyhow, that's all. I'm really sorry for the spam and fail, guys, especially if I'm not supposed to post this here or should post this at all or...anything. I'd add, like...puppies or a funny video or something, here, but I'm incredibly awful at finding that sort of thing. That's what I have YOU for.

I don't have anything pending with Sora (wouldn't mind changing that, though =3), but I wanted to sound in with a note of support. =3

*HUGS!* Hey, whatever works best for you. I failed at LJ completely on and off (mostly on) for YEARS with not being able to keep up with a Flist (I'd forget or just not get around to it for a few hours to a few days and then OMG TOO MANY POSTS I DON'T HAVE TIME...). Then I discovered the "track" feature on LJ . . . though it was another probably year before it occurred to me to track whole journals and not just a post at a time. The Wake is easy because, for EVERYONE, all I have to do is track the comms themselves. For my RL friends and for the other game I'm in, I have everyone's individual journals tracked too. Now it's easy for me to (LOL try to) keep up - I'm sent an email any time anything happens, so it's right in front of me. I may still fail by not replying right away and the something might sit for a day or three, but at least it's there and I know about it. I felt like ALL KINDS OF FAIL at first for having to do that, but it's worked so well for me that I just say "fuck it, it works, that's all that really matters" now.

So yeah, again, whatever works for ya BB! Don't feel bad. We all work differently.

And thanks for the encouragement! For awhile, I was able to keep up with just my e-mail...but it's just so easy for me to scan over and ignore stuff in my hotmail inbox. I have this horrible habit of avoiding things for stupid reasons, so I figure if I take the time to make myself a note, I'll actually keep everything straight. I guess everyone does have to find their own way of doing things, huh?

nothing pending but I have some friendly advice since lord knows my inbox is a complete mess.

what I did a couple years ago was create a second e-mail account on gamil, amazingly I was thinking ahead and knew all these RP tags would flood my regular inbox. What I found is it's a lot more reliable than hotmail with receiving lj notifs. and the way every comment in a single thread gets organized into a single conversation (so long as the subject line doesn't change) makes things so much neater. then I just star things that need immediate attention so I know it's important when I get a reply.
You can also be really anal and label things however you like I don't know much about that though.

But yeah. Like Dragon said we all do this differently that's just what works for me. Hope you can get this all figured out!

Yeah, Hotmail can be pretty iffy when it comes to getting notifs. The only reason I stick to it is because I can see them right awaywhen I have my MSN on - I don't have a google browser or toolbar, though I have considered switching. I'll definitely keep this in mind, since I know gmail is really useful for people who need to keep organised, and it sounds super-shiny and awesome.

Good luck! I relate to the "oh shit. I haven't kept up" but hahaha....that's what I bug my friends for. ;)

What I do these days in my Firefox browser is make a LOGS folder where all my logs/entries can be bookmarked by game (you can click and drag them in). I tend to forget about where the entries actually are so when I see an email notification, I usually just find the actual entry in the bookmarked folder (likewise, if I don't get a notification for some reasonable time, I check to see if it's just because it got missed/forgotten/etc). But your list is pretty much the same idea so yay for organization! :D

Another thing my friend does is make an Excel spreadsheet. But I'm too lazy for that.

Um, anyways. Don't be nervous. You're obviously trying and I'm sure people will be understanding as you try to get back on your feet and rolling along. If anything, perhaps see if you can handwave some logs after figuring out what happens and then plot for new ones. :)

Yeah, I don't use Firefox, and IE doesn't really have a good setup for such a system - I could save entries in my favorites, but I tend to ignore those. Plus, with a list I'll be constantly obsessed with making it shorter. It's a...thing, I guess. I don't know.

Thank you, and I'll try. I've mostly just done a lot of flailing around and not doing anything because...honestly, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing in the first place. I think a lot of that might be going away, though. I hope, anyway.
