THE SONG DRABBLE MEME

My God, that guy looks a lot like Cillian Murphy

THE SONG DRABBLE MEME

WHAT BE THE RULES NAH?
1. Have a playlist ready! Don't use all your songs--try and narrow it down a little.
2. Let everyone know how many songs you're working with. Also, which characters you would be willing to write about.
3. Others tag your post, picking a character or pairing or friendship or familial relationship or whatever, and then choose a number from your list.
04. Write a drabble related to that song, using that/those character(s)!

[Cell Block Tango; Chicago (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiKx3JbJwt0) God what is this I don't even]

They weren't denying it. Strangely, enough. He expected denial until the bitter end, a pair of convicts protesting their innocence for the entire time they were trapped in the strange prison. Not that he approved of such a thing - he'd much rather criminals got exactly what they deserved, regardless of species, regardless of sex.

The first plead insanity. However, she didn't deny what she'd done, either. It was difficult for her to, when she was discovered at the scene of the crime, covered in blood, the murder weapon still in hand - a sword of all things. He hadn't seen a sword in years. Not since that one incident with the hanar in Zeta ward. "I did it," she told him, all of them. "I thought he was a zombie. It looked like, he looked like... God, if you'd have seen it..."

And after that, she trailed off into inconsolable sobbing and babbling. Apologizing, asking him to tell the dead man she was sorry. Garrus shook his head - hell of a way for a first date to end. The girl was remorseful, yes, but hardly innocent. Neither of the new arrivals were.

The second was a synthetic - imprisoned for the murder of one of his own. Granted, Garrus really didn't understand their factions, nor did he care to try and figure it out. Gang wars, that's all it was, as far as he was concerned. Seemed as if the synthetic, the big silver one, got a little too drunk, got mixed up with one of the other side. He didn't deny it either, nor did he put in any other plea but drunken rage.

How could a robot even get drunk?

Still, he wrote it down anyway. The pair had it coming, whatever it was they got.

Sideswipe and Optimus, 621

[. . . Right Kind Of Wrong; LeAnn Rimes. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sc7mSNL5ees)]

It wasn't hard to get a feel for Sideswipe's standing in Nautilus. He wasn't popular, unless by "popular" one meant "a popular victim of punishment", or "a popular target". He had a terrible attitude, a smart mouth, an unparalleled lust for combat, and a gift for making terrible, horrible innuendo at anyone and anything he thought he could get away with making it at.

He was also one of the most loyal, dedicated, and protective beings Optimus had ever run across during his time in the city.

It made things very confusing to say the least.

On the one hand, Optimus felt a duty to try and rein in the antagonistic Autobot. But on the other, he was glad for the support, and the protection, despite how cloying it felt, at times. Compounding the problem was the silver 'Bot's tendency to... be touchy. Apparently, being Sideswipe's friend meant dealing with silver armor sprawled all over you at any given time.

Optimus... probably should have minded it more than he did. He wasn't used to such close contact. He allowed it, thought, and never remarked on any discomfort, because, really, over time, he was starting to get used to it. Maybe even enjoy it to a degree he knew he shouldn't. There was a line, it was inappropriate.

But, then again, Sideswipe seemed programmed to cross lines. He seemed to know just when Optimus' grip on his leadership position was slipping, and when that meant he needed to be supportive, and when that meant he could drape himself across the shorter Autobot's lap, or sling an arm around smaller shoulders.

Or when he could clamber up onto the couch beside Prime, laying across him like some kind of monstrous silver cat, high-performance engine purring a mile a minute. He knew he should shove Sideswipe away, discuss with him the nature of personal space. But he was slowly losing his desire to.

And when they ended up tangled up together after a night of drunken revelry neither one of them could really remember, each of them liberally streaked in each others' paint, Optimus couldn't help but wonder if that had been Sideswipe's plan all along.
