Honestly before ascending, Lucas hardly knew Lelouch. He knew OF him, but since Lelouch returned to Nautilus after Lucas had awakened, he missed out on the bending class. Part of Lucas wishes he had taken the time to get to know him sooner.

He respects Lelouch's general attitude, how he handles the conflicts that crop up in the city, the fact that Lelouch teaches the Bending class and also that he's taken additional time to offer more specialized training. There's little doubt in Lucas's mind that Lelouch is highly capable and skilled, no wonder he's an Ashura. But he also doesn't come across as some tightwad, either, which Lucas really appreciates.

He comes across as aloof though, and Lucas hasn't figured out why exactly, but figures he's just being all prim and proper. On the whole Lucas would consider Lelouch a good friend and a talented mentor.

It's so true that Lelouch comes across as aloof, which is the product of both his upbringing and life experience. I look forward to Lucas finding out more about who Lelouch was back in his world. He's gotten a little more open about bits and pieces since coming to Nautilus, and in the past, he has chosen to confide more to his Angelii, so it's entirely possible that this will come up if we want it to. Lelouch likes to control how he is perceived and he has a hard time with trust in general, but he's gotten better and Nautilus also likes to give him a swift kick in the pants about it from time to time.

I am definitely looking forward to seeing how their friendship develops, too! Their CR is always interesting and I would definitely like to see them confide in the other so yes pelase let's do all of that. 8D

LOL, it would be funny if the prince/emperor bit came up in passing, like Suzaku calling him "Your Majesty" or something, as he sometimes does in a sort of teasing way.
