[He's not sure what it's in regards to. Is not dying from narcolepsy and soup a lucky thing? Many would argue not having narcolepsy at all would be luckier. Or how about surviving Impel Down? Again, not being in Impel Down would be luckier. Ds are usually considered insanely lucky, but if so, Ace isn't sure it works for him. Born the blood of Roger? That's pretty unlucky. But then, in spite of that, being born at all and living as long as he has, is rather incredible.]

[In the end it comes down to something simple. He has the best friends anyone could ask for, no matter what. And somehow despite all his craziness, Luffy and the others never turned their backs on him. Sanji took him in and gave him a home, Whitebeard did the same, and Zoro quickly became a best friend in the way only Thatch and Marco had once managed. And Jinbei... so loyal he let himself be put in the same cell as Ace rather than go to war to see Ace executed. Crazy, and maybe just maybe quite lucky.]

There are many types of strength. Some people are strong in some areas... other people are strong in other areas. The trick is finding crew nakama friends who can help support you in the areas you're weak in, and vice-versa. A group is stronger than an individual, if just because there are people to support each other. They can do what you can't.

Your friends are strong. They'll be able to handle you. True friends won't abandon you for something so simple.

Ah, I'm not so sure about that. I trust my nakama, but they shouldn't have to deal with me at all. I would never want to be a burden on them, but I suppose I am finding that I can't protect them even from myself by avoiding them either. So I am not sure what to do about that.

Oy oy oy... That's their choice if they wanna 'deal' with you or not. I can guarantee you that your friends don't feel you're a burden, and they don't think of it as 'dealing with you', when they want to be with you.

Maybe don't worry about 'protecting' them from you, when we CHOSE to be with you. Whatever risks or dangers you think you have, nakama are there to be by your side, regardless. We accept your 'danger'. So don't go fucking thinking you can 'protect people from you', by running away from things. If we're your nakama, your danger is our danger, and we're fine with that.
