My sister was an actress. She often sang to me when I was younger to keep up our spirits. But how do I find my way home from somewhere so strange as this? [He didn't want to point out how strange it was that there was a talking cricket, or that he didn't mind talking back to the cricket.]

Nothin' wrong with a little singin' to keep your chin up, son. But far as I know, ya can't go home just yet. Uh, not until you learn Bending, I think it was. Ya see, this city's not just a city, it's a magic city, run by someone named Nautilus.

But don't you worry! When ya go back, you'll pick back up right where you left off, as if you were never gone to begin with!

I'm glad Margot won't miss me. But me learn magic? That's silly. I'm as ordinary as dirt. I don't belong in a fantastic city like this.

Well, lookin' for what you're good at, for what you can do that's special, anywhere's a good place for that.

But I think you'll probably get a good chance at that here in Nautilus. City's full of things you'll see, but whether or not you'll believe it, well, I suppose that's up to you.

[Armand didn't know what he was good at. He was good at being a little brother, good at liking people. But that wasn't much. So much else he was just learning, from people wiser and more talented than he was.]

I'm used to learning things from other people. [Not looking inside.] I suppose that will have to change.

[He'll just reach into his waist coat and tug out his watch. A few taps into its face, and a miniature map of Nautilus seems to be hovering in midair. ...Yeah.]

Shouldn't be all that far...

[He smiles somewhat sheepishly.]

Now, that's nothin' at all. I was just as confused as you were when I first walked on in here, so helping out another new face around these parts is the least I can do.

Ah, yes, the welcome house shouldn't be too far! It's, uh...! I think it's that way!

[Just pointing a direction, here.]

[Armand wiped some water out of his face. It didn't help much, but it covered his slight disappointment that this little encounter was likely over.]

I should go find it then. [He looked in the direction pointed. It didn't look any less wet and dreary than the rest of the city, but it was a place to go.]
