It seems to be a big city. [And at least his first encounter with a person is friendly enough.]

I'm Armand. My world was quite large and had many cities in it. This one seems like one of those, although it is different in some way I cannot explain. Perhaps it's the lights, or the carriages. I cannot say.

So if it weren't for homesickness, and worry for my family, I should think living here would be pleasant. [His tone isn't completely certain, but he's willing to consider it.]

People have been kind, even if the weather hasn't been.

And from what I've been told you don't need to worry. Life will go on in your own world and you will even still be there in some way. Enough that people won't notice a change anyway. And you can visit sometimes.
