All power here is based on will an' focus, the ability to shape what could be. So to have the bendin' abilities you know, you've got to make them a reality. Trouble is, you've no experience tappin' what fuels such power here, so it'll take you a bit of time to get it all back.
[His mouth curls in a small smile.]
Though I s'pose you're also wonderin' who this loony fellow is, bringin' up all this nonsense, yeh? Name's Antovil. Think of me as, ah...somethin' of a guide here in the city.

A guide, huh? [He sounds sketchy and she doesn't try to hide the disbelief in her tone.] If there's one thing I know how to do, it's focus. If anything you're telling me is the truth.
[Of course she did have a hard time picking up airbending no matter how hard she tried. So she gives it another shot, lifting her arms in fluid motion that should get water from the ocean to come to her. Despite her earnest, determined effort, nothing happens.
It's not the first time she hasn't had access to her bending, but that experience doesn't comfort her in the slightest. The opposite of it actually. Korra pouts at the blindfold, though her mind is racing over what just happened.]
...okay, I need to have my bending.

Ah, no. Waterbendin' is goin' to be a little out of your league for a short bit. Best to start small. Uncomplicated. Then work your way up from there.
My advice? Find yourself an instructor. In fact, I could even recommend one or two. Live up to bein' a good guide here an' all that.

Pouts are healthy, they save her from getting in trouble.]
Waterbending's the first element I learned, it doesn't get any more basic than that for me. [HOW IS THIS HARD TO UNDERSTAND? She keeps her voice from raising too much. Bending to her is just that, bending the elements. Nothing more.] Who's the best waterbender here? I'll ask them.
[Starting over isn't a fun idea at all, but she needs them back as soon as possible. Or so she feels.]

Bendin' here isn't just tamin' earth an' water an' whatnot...
[He holds up his free hand, twirling it a little at the wrist. Suddenly, there's an orange in between his fingertips, literally out of nowhere.]
It's bendin' reality. Somethin' from nothin'. Just think of how much better your waterbendin' will be once you don't have to be near the ocean or a stream or even carryin' a pouch of water with you so you've got somethin' to manipulate. Instead, you can make your own water with a thought an' put that to use.
So when I say "best to start small", I do mean small.
[And the orange changes into a contained globe of water. Antovil grins.]
Learn to make before you manipulate.

[She stares at the sphere of water, the bitterness of not being able to manipulate it giving way to fascinated curiosity. Not needing an element, simply creating it.]
Who can teach me that?
[She's about to ask him to point her in their direction, but Korra looks at the blindfold and closes her mouth.
Yeeeah, no.]

Others take on students just a couple at a time for one-on-one private lessons, you could say. Their methods vary dependin' on personality. Just a matter of askin' around 'til you find one you match well with. Given your path in life, Avatar, you might do well with someone who can take you from the basics up through combat bending trainin'.
[As he finishes speaking, the sphere of water swirls in on itself and vanishes away as though it had never been there in the first place.]
no subject
[She stops and looks at Antovil, her brow knit in confusion.]
How do you know my path? You're not from my world.
[Not with that accent and mastery over bending. New bending, she isn't sure how to distinguish the two just yet.]
no subject
[He reached up with his free hand to tap lightly at the side of his head, just alongside one covered eye.]
But I know because my eyes see differently than yours. That...an' you've been here before. You just don't remember it. A fair enough warnin', I think, since as you make your way 'round the city, you'll find I'm not the only one who knows who you are, Korra.
People from your world have also been here before. Ask 'round, you'll find Tenzin's a familiar name with some.
But the people who've been here for years are used to this. Many Wake up, stay for a while, then fall back Asleep an' return to their worlds with no memory of ever bein' here.
