Silent as she watches, remaining stiff and rigid in place, she picks up quickly on the desired response that the nudging was meant to ellicit. Looking up from the cat to the teenager, then back to the cat, she considers her options.

Tentatively she extends her hand out to hover over the feline's head, and with another pause to look to the stranger for cues that she should stop, she goes ahead and makes light contact. Her touch is quite gentle, and she smoothly slides her fingers over the back of the cat once, "...l-like this?"
