"Yes. Pudding-BRAIN. When I was all ears and leather, I called you lot stupid-apes. Same thing."

He shrugs and pulls a face at Rose's continued awkwardness. If Rose only knew how some of his outfits came together...

"Does this look like a face that gets embarrassed?"

Because it takes more than clothes to embarrass him. More being wrong in public will do that.

She waves a hand anyway. "Scottish," an eyeroll, as if that explained everything and wasn't at all racist, yeah. "I bet I could embarrass you!" She clicked her teeth shut, mentally chiding herself. Now she was just being childish... again.

Rose almost explained about feeling Mickey or her Mum but a simple reminder to herself that she was Rose Tyler, the one and only fixed it. Even if she was being a bit silly, yeah. "Dashing," she just smirked again, waiting for the eyebrows to figure out their latest attack plan.

The Doctor is just going to roll his eyes and blow a raspberry. Because, he has other things to worry about.

"Look, you can't blame everything on the accent. Doesn't work like that."

She laughs and leans back with her hands behind her head. Remind you of someone, Doc?

"Why not? Besides, blaming it on the TimeLord thing would be specie-ist. And besides, we both know it's not that at all."

But she'll concede he wins this round because he just did a raspberry without being embarrassed about doing that.

Nope. Should it? And don't call him 'Doc'.

"It's racist to blame it on being Scottish, so you haven't really improved your moral high ground, there."

Very, very little embarrasses him now.

Yes, but if he's too daft to figure it out, she's not going to say so. Especially since she's not even aware of it, oops.

"It's not racist to Scotsmen. Besides, you're not even really Scottish!"

Is having this conversation embarrassing yet?

It's not the intelligence at this point. It's the age.

"Still not helping your cause."

And he's enjoying this. Probably more than he should.

Oh good, because so is Rose. She hopes older her gets to banter like this too, but she'll take it for now.

"How do I know it's not your prejudices leaking out? You're the one calling everyone pudding-brains. Just because you think it's true doesn't make it not Scottish." Yeah, that doesn't really make much sense. She doesn't care.

He tilts his head... considering her...

"You know, Rose, I think I'm too old for you."

It's not an age difference thing. It's a 'billions of years' thing. Which isn't the same.

"Oi...." an annoyed growl. Doctor that is a good way to get her to kiss you, really, because it just makes her determined to prove she can and will decide things like that for herself.

"Don't just say that because you were being too much an old man to keep up with my lingo." An armfold! "I thought you were super fluent in all languages and time periods, yeah?"

"That's not the kind of 'too old for you' that I meant."

Seriously. Billions of years older than last time she saw him.

That fine line is shrinking.

"What kind do you mean?" There may be a very dangerous glint to those brown eyes, Doctor. Be careful!

He offers a dark look in return.

"I could tell you, but you'd die of old age before I finished explaining the first part."

He's not actually exaggerating. There is the short version, of course, but what would be the fun of that?

Rose grinds her teeth, and tiptoes up to pull his head down for a hard kiss.

"Try me," it's rather like a growl, but still incredibly human all the same. The seven kinds of passion that constantly flooded Rose, had clearly taken hold of her actions a bit. She expected to be shoved back and scolded as if by a teacher, which would be horribly embarrassing and so much worse, but oh well. Can't put the egg back in the shell and all that. "For someone whose brain isn't made of pudding, and who doesn't have the excuse of really great hair leaking into it, you're still really really thick about a lot of things, Doctor." She should probably take her hands off the back of his head now. Really really should. She hasn't yet, kind of enjoying the feel of the grey hair between her fingers, but she will... soon. Probably.

He would push her away, if he wasn't trying so hard to get away from her. This is not unlike Missy and he's... well horrified!

"ROSE! What the hell has gotten into you!?"

And the clapping stops long enough to get himself disentangled from her. Then it starts up again. And if Rose had wanted to scare the Doctor, she has. And he backs slowly away from her as if she is the most dangerous creature ever.

Once he feels he's far enough away, he turns and runs. He's used to running and hiding in the Castle, this will be an easy escape.

THAT WENT WELL.

"Good job Rose, you terrified an older than time space alien who's used to fighting monsters."

She just face palms and slumps down, back to the wall, knees up to her chest. And maybe find a table to hide under. This time, she'll just... let him run without her for now. Too embarrassing to explain.
