The Doctor looks around at the strange voice. It sounds... not too different from an Adipose, though a different dialect. Finally, his eyes come to rest on the little yellow creature - definitely not an adipose.

Too bad. He can speak Adipose. He might be able to figure out this language too. If he can speak baby and dinosaur, well...

"Hello, there. And what might you be?"

He doesn't really expect to learn the answer, but if the creature answers, maybe he can learn it's language and they can have a proper conversation.

"Pi Pikachu!" It answers happily, little paw raised in greeting. It tilts it's head a bit, trying to decide if this human would possibly know anything about where they were.

"Pika. Pichu pikapika pi?" It sort of looks around, hopefully it will be understood.

The Doctor kneels down next to the creature. It's just rude to stand over it like he is and he does have a few manners.

Regardless if he knows the language or not, he can put some things together. knowing over 5 billion languages has it's advantages.

"I'm the Doctor... You are... Pikachu?"

More to make sure he's assembling the language correctly.

"No, I don't know where we are. I only just got here myself."

He tilts his head as he considers the little creature.

"I think I saw your friend, Ash?"

Pikachu steps back a little to give The Doctor room. A nod of confirmation before it frowns again. Well, at least it was a city. Much better than being lost in the woods. Especially without..

"Pikapi?" Pikachu perked up at that, "Pikapi pikapika?" Where was Ash?

"Pikapi is what you call him? I'll try to remember that. He said he speaks your language, so maybe he can teach me."

But there was a question there. The Doctor is trying to assemble it... it takes him a few moments. Several possibilities... but... one is most likely.

"We were chatting, just over there."

He gestures to a building not far away. Then he shrugs.

"Then we parted ways... I don't know where he is now. But he's here, so I'm sure you'll find him soon."
