Squirtle hadn't seen Ash in a long while, having made the decision to become a full-time firefighter years ago (or what felt like years ago). Its first instinct upon Waking certainly hadn't been to seek out its trainer. In fact, it had settled down in the shade of a tree, munching on an apple it'd managed to knock down from it when it heard Ash calling.

"Squirtle?" It poked its head out from behind a the tree. It really was Ash! "Squirtle squirt!"

Upon exploring more of his new world and trying to be scared in the process like stepping on a twig and scaring himself. There's calmness when there's a familiar vocal tone and Ash curiously looks over in that direction.

"Squirtle!" There's a wide grin on Ash's face as the trainer races to greet and hug his Pokemon. He's so glad you're here and most importantly safe!

Squirtle is already leaping right into Ash's arms. Their meeting here was certainly unexpected, but really, this whole situation was unexpected. Squirtle just knows it's happy to see Ash again.

But soon, it's looking around. "... Squirtle?" Does Ash know where they are?

He's really glad to find Squirtle, this is like that time they all got separated on that island with the Giant Pokemon. Feel the love Squirtle. So much love.

"Ummm.. I'm not really sure." There's a nervous look for only a second, "But don't worry we'll figure it out." Just like always, right?

"Come on. Let's find the others."
