Well she managed to elicit something from him he wasn't even sure if he was capable of anymore, a genuine smile. "I think there are times where I've debated living the rest of my life as just an animal, but I think I'd end up missing other people too much. I rely on having people around me so that I can distract myself from my own crazy antics."

He was looking down from his lofty perch, sort of amused by her casually leaning against the spot he chose to mope. "I'm not sure if that's reassuring or not. If they know they're dead I might have an even harder time dealing with them, because they'd know I failed them. I don't really want or deserve their forgiveness for that." Yet in spite of saying that, she'd managed to give him a glimmer of hope.

"I'm Marco." He gave her a little wave from his lofty perch, debating whether he should come down, or invite her to sit with him in another lofty perch of some sort.

She could barely see that smile from where she stands, but she had a feeling that it was a real one. It's not often that she's been able to do that for someone. Normally her bluntness makes it near impossible for her to reassure people. She gives her own slight smile in return. "That is not surprising, since most people tend to be social. It is more difficult to on your own."

But then he says his name which causes her to arch a brow some. Didn't Ace have a brother named Marco? She doesn't know much about him beyond what the fireman has told her, and sometimes she feels like she can't believe everything he says. For all she knows this is a different Marco. It is a common name in some areas, right? So for now she will not say anything about Ace.

Fortunately for Rose bluntness was exactly the way you were supposed to handle Marco. Few people could actually pull it off, but it was one of the reasons he got along so well with Ace's family. "This might be true, but I had a family of thousands of brothers and sisters, it's hard to adapt to such a drastic change in population of close friends or family."

He does hop down from his lofty perch to lean against the other side of the lamppost. So he managed to miss the arched eyebrow at his name, though he's not sure if he'd have caught the meaning to it even if he saw it. "Well since you're one of the only people I've met who seems to have a solid head on her shoulders, how do you feel about being my tour guide? I'll owe you a favor if you like, which isn't something I give out very often."
