"Your heart? And how exactly was it removed, then?"

"I don't exactly know. There was a shadow, not that I knew back then what a shadow was. It kind of blindsided me and took my heart. My memory is kinda fuzzy on the whole thing, I don't have a lot of details." He waved his hand.

"Regardless, something about me sticks out because here I am, a Nobody."

"There is a woman on the network sometimes, ranting about Shadows, perhaps she has a better idea of what is going on, then."

A... Nobody?

Demyx shrugged. "I know as much as I need to about them now. That was awhile ago. Years even." He said dismissively. "I still don't have my heart though, but the Superior is working on it." At least, he figured he was, since that's what he'd told him.

"I don't see any around here, so that's something." He looked around again, no, no shadows appeared.

She looked up at the sun, then down at the shadows they cast, then she looked at him, arching an eyebrow.

He didn't know what she was giving him that look for. "...What?"

"Perhaps you mean some other sort of shadow, then?" she asked, dryly.

[melodiouspacifist]

"They're like little monsters with bright yellow eyes." He put his hand low to the ground. "They're called shadows. That's what I meant."

"If you ever see one, you should run. I didn't know any better, so here I am. Most people don't know about them until it's too late anyway." He mused.

"Then if you're heart gets taken you turn into a shadow, and a Nobody, lesser most likely. Almost all of them are lesser ones. That's how it works." In a vague overview that explained little really.

"A lesser...Nobody..." she repeated.

"I assure you, while I don't actually need my heart, and have not used it in a millennia," she lied easily, "No small monster will be fast enough to take it from me."
