He looks up at the taller man in faint surprise at the question. It's not one he's used to people having to ask here.

"You don't know? Then you're either new or very out of touch with all that's been going on." After all, he's fairly certain between his older self's antics and his own questions, likely everyone knows who they are.

"I'm the Doctor. One of them anyway," he adds drily, accepting the hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Captain Harkness." And there's something about the name that feels it should be familiar as well, but he can't quite place why.

"Not offhand. I'm good, but I'm not quite a mind reader." He grinned. "Just new in the area, taking a look around."

He shook the hand and his voice dipped a little. "Oh the pleasure is all mine."

It might come to him, after all, Jack had a reputation to uphold.

"Ah, then I must welcome you to one of the largest and second most frustrating prisons I've ever been in," he says with a charming smile and a flourish.

"An entire city at your disposal and very little chance you can ever leave. What more could we possibly want?" Dark humour aside, he doesn't really want to bring the other man down that much so offers him an arm and another smile.

"Shall I give you the tour, or have you had it already?"

"Oh, I've seen much worse prisons than this." He glanced around curiously, it was more like a world and being trapped there...well he'd done that before too.

"I'm sure it will be fine." The prospect of escape would come in time, it wasn't as though his teammates would abandon him there. If he arrived, there was a way to leave, he just hadn't found it.

In the meantime, there was no harm in having a good time.

"I'll take the tour!"

"Of course, I didn't say it was the worst prison I'd ever been in." His eyes go distant a moment, a faint frown worrying his brow. "...far from it in fact."

Then it's gone and he smiles brightly at Jack again. "It's larger than most and comes with it's own brand of activities, which I'm sure you'll see in time. Perhaps you'll even like it here."

He doesn't, but he's realising that's hardly true for others. He doesn't mind either that Jack doesn't take the offered arm, dropping it again and instead bounding ahead a couple of steps to turn and start walking backwards rapidly.

"This way then! My home away from home isn't far, I'll show you it if you like."

Oops, that was my fault. Sorry!

"Agreed." Jack smiled a little, but he wasn't in those prisons now so there was no need to dwell on them.

"Oh I can be a simple guy. The company of someone else, a drink in my hand and I can be pretty content." Jack flashed him a grin. He could settle in anywhere if need be.

"I'd definitely like to see that."

"That's good, should help you out here." It isn't quite so simple for him, not that he hasn't had to settle places before, but there's always a low level feeling that he should be doing something, even in the times he'd forgotten who he was. A need to try and help wherever he was, to try and change whatever seemed wrong in the world he found himself in.

And always to keep moving.

It's no different here, even if he seems to have settled to others, and it's part of why he swings into these bouts of near manic energy at times, walking backwards in front of Jack and then bounce along sideways next to him, moving quickly to keep up with the other's longer strides.

"Actually once you get a hold of bending you mightn't find it too bad at all. Bending! Yes you should know about that, has anyone told you yet? It's really terribly useful though difficult to get used to at times, always forget I'm able to just make things at times or prefer making them from scratch myself as it were..."
