"That doesn't mean you're telling the truth about the rest."
If it were true, it meant pig-face got free in two timelines. One, he could handle, and apparently did based on what Shadow told him. Two--that was more than disheartening.

"I am many things, boy. I may have hidden my intentions from the King of Hyrule in my dealings with him, but never did I lie to him. Nor to you. I have been brutally honest, for what reason do I have to lie? What would it benefit me? I may omit to serve my purposes, but never have I once said anything untrue."

Link tightened his grip on his sword and shield. He didn't want to respond, because, he didn't want to believe it.

It took all of his self control to keep from bursting into laughter. This was simply too satisfying to him.

Link took a shaking breath, trying hard not to lose it. He'd fall apart later, at home, once he could figure out if it was all true or not.
As much as he hated--hated to admit it, the man was probably telling the truth.

Unless, of course, he is attacked.

However, he was more concerned with the safety of the people of Nautilus. It was a snap back to reality, as he started to realize just how bad of a situation they could be in. As much as it killed him, Hyrule would have to wait. He activated the back of his shield, to get a message to Zelda, Shadow, and Clef. At least the former two would understand immediately.
He swung the shield around to show Ganondorf's retreating form, and quietly muttered "Don't wait up."
Link cut the feed and shot off two more arrows.

"Ah... the wind... feels nice here."
With that, he wheels on Link, bringing the blades to bear with surprising speed for someone of his side.

Luckily, he had chosen to work on regaining skills he'd had in Hyrule, so, he hoped fervently that he could keep the man in the dark a bit longer about Nautilus and the potential all Wakened possessed. (Although, turning into a wolf and biting the hell out Ganondorf was a temptation.)
He did a nice backflip, just to give himself a bit more room. "So, you decided tusks and a tail weren't your style?"
Just keep him away from the others, just keep him busy....

He lunges again, using his blades in a scissor-like fashion, ready to cut anything caught between them.
"It was just the form that allowed me the most control over the power I wielded."
no subject
"That's a shame. It was an improvement."
Keep him busy, keep them safe.
ty for allowing the thread crash!
"Light at the corners when you want it dropped," he said softly as the shields around himself merged with the ones around Link as he got closer. But after a glance to make sure his son was unharmed, his focus was on the shields themselves. And the foe.
No problemo~!
"What's the matter boy? Can't fight on your own anymore? I expected more from the Goddess' chosen."

Link wished he still had the Master Sword. But, he refused to Bend a copy of the Sword of Evil's Bane. That sword had a life of its own.
The transformation he'd learned in Termina---that he was still perfecting. He'd fight Ganondorf as himself for the time being.
Despite his taunting, Link was extremely concerned for Clef's safety. He didn't dare show it.

"You're right. I almost forgot that your precious cheerleaders were the only reason you prevailed."
In a single motion, he put a foot on the shields, vaulting over Link, leaping for Clef.

He shot off three arrows at Ganondorf's back. Clef was getting a front row seat to what Link had tried to warn him about.

"And you will not harm my son." And that was steel and fire and all of his seven and a half centuries. Her could not defend his princess, he would defend his boy. And stand at his back, supporting him as he defended himself.
no subject
"Son? Well that makes this all the more entertaining. But save your lectures. You know nothing of the power I have tasted, of the power I still have despite having the Triforce taken from me. You will die as he watches!"
He renewed his attack, pouring every ounce of his being into piercing the shields. As he struck at the shields, laughing with sadistic glee, there was a shadowy arm joining the attack for half a moment. Or was it just a trick of the light? Either way, it seemed as if the impact of his twin blades grew with force with each swing.
no subject
Oh, shit.
Link took the opportunity to jump and slam his shield into Ganondorf's back. Not as impressive at his current size, but, it wasn't a love tap either.
"We're fighting, you and me, me and you, lay off dragging other people into the mix, Desert-brain. This isn't Hyrule, no one cares about your ugly mug or your delusions of grandeur."
Of course, Link wasn't stupid. He knew Ganondorf well enough to know what he was doing.
Unfortunately, he also knew it was working.

In other words, Link, he's about to use that idiot's swords as lightning rods, and you might want to get out of the way. And the possibly scary thing? Not only did Clef not seem alarmed by the threats to him... he was smiling.
You do not mess with the former Guru of Ceiphro. At least... not a second time.
