Jed twirls the shot gun and replaces it properly. Turning towards the...green man, welp! He'd seen weirder around these parts. He holds his hand out.

"Any time, hoss. Names Jedidiah Smith, late a New York City. Pleasure ta meet ya." He smiles and looks about, "Ah. An welcome ta Nautilus I guess. Whoooee, what a welcome y'all got!"

The accent is a little strange to his ears, but he understands the greeting well enough and Trahearne accepts the offered hand. His own is cool instead of warm, like touching a fresh green leaf with a hardness of wood and vine beneath it instead of flesh and bone.

"Nautilus?" He says the word carefully, tasting it and how it sounds, weighing it up carefully. "A place beyond death? Strange, I didn't think my people would go to the same place humans did when they died. I thought we simply returned to the Dream."

"Uh, ain't sure 'bout beyond death, but it's beyond somethin' alright." Well that sort of made him figure this guy was dead or in the middle of something that was sure enough going to make him dead.

"It ain't an after life, not in the sense of where ya end up after pushin' up daisies. It's kinda like uh...well! The place between a dream and wakin' up."
