[It was a long and complicated story. The Great Underground Empire and it's above-ground counterpart had a long and bizarre history---although, most of it would make a lot of sense to Zelda.]

You get used to it. But, if I can magick a way out of this thing, I won't say "No".

...so magic works here....I might not look it, but, I'm actually fairly talented. Which is the first reason why the Second Dungeon Master chose me for the gig. The second reason, was all magic was about to end and he didn't want to be stuck with a useless job title.

[Dalboz hummed to himself.]

Time's stopped back home. That---that is actually...good news. We've got the slimmest chance of restoring magic. Magic---it tries to come back on its own, it just takes time...but....if Yannick is allowed to implement his plan, we'll lose it forever.

It does, but the magic here is of the place itself. You'll find that all the arts of home are lost to you, until you learn to will them back into existence.

It's startling, at first, but one soon becomes used to how things work here.

[The stakes involved in that particular mess make her go pale.]

Could your world survive that?

That's an excellent question.

Survive? Yes. Thrive? No, not so much. It'd never be the same.
