The small orange cat looked up at him, ears folded back in irritation.

"Well that's one question...." he said. Yep, the cat just spoke.

"But there is a far more important question that needs to be answered."

Surprised, Jesse took a half-step back.

"Well, huh," Jesse said aloud to himself, looking down at the cat. He scratched the back of his head, under his hat, "Thought I'd seen everythin' when I met a talkin' gorilla. Guess not."

"What more important questions would those be, puss?" Jesse asked, crouching down to better examine the cat.

He would have thought the question was obvious, but everyone apparently needed to be asked it. So he asked.

"Why haven't you fed me yet?"
