The orange cat was sleeping in the Master's path like a furry speed bump. He woke up juuuuust before the man was in kicking range and made an elaborate show of taking his time to stretch and yawn, somehow staying in the way the whole time, but just out of reach. Then he looked up. Sleepy, and kitty innocent.

"Guessing you're new then?"

Now, the Master has nothing against cats. He's found them quite useful in the past, and never mind that was when he was actually sort of turning into a cat. But talking cats, in his experience, are nothing but trouble. There's such a thing as having too much of a mind of your own.

He looks down at the cat and sighs a little, resigned to speaking to it.

"You'd know, wouldn't you?" Silent observers, cats have their... paws? in every pie.

"Well, the evidence is pretty strong. One, I don't know you, two... you haven't fed me yet. So clearly, you must be new."

"Perhaps where I come from," the Master says with a small smile, "cats are the main course." Obviously they aren't (*cough*not anymore, anyhow*cough*), but he can't resist putting it in its place.
