He hadn't meant to advertise his grief but it appeared he had. Almost casually Zagato glanced back over a shoulder, and his impressively over-sized shoulder pauldrons, to the woman who had spoken. Her golden hair and polite manner of speaking reminded him, briefly, of some one very dear to him but the illusion was shortly lived. She was a concerned citizen, likely a decent person, but not Princess Emeraude.

"I heard a voice telling me to wake and answered."

He frowned as clearly that had been an error.

"It was a mistake..."

Zelda shakes her head.

"I fear it was not," she tells him. "The Call to Awaken is the means by which all come to this city. You may not wish to be here, sir, but Nautilus clearly had other plans in mind."

She could claim it wasn't a mistake all she liked but it still felt like one to him. If only he hadn't answered that voice then... then what? He would have died in that battle and Emeraude still would not be safe. With a new purpose he turned to face the lady who apparently held more knowledge about this new world than he did.

"How does one leave here?"

Maybe it wasn't too late. If only he could return to Cephiro there might be something he could do!

"That can be a complex issue." She gave him a careful look. "Would you mind if I conjured a map of the city?"

Newcomers had reacted badly to Bending before, and while she knew Cephiro's world had magic it seemed best to clarify what she was doing beforehand.

"There are gates in the city which will send you home if your will is strong enough. I can show you where they are, of course. But you should understand that getting them to work can be difficult for newcomers."

The barest hint of a smile touched his lips upon discovering that there was a map and a way to return to Cephiro, here he thought he might have been trapped in this odd new world. Zagato of course, being quite familiar with magic, was non-pulsed by her bending. In many ways it was exactly like the spells the people of Cephiro used, right down to the power of your will determining whether or not it would work. He swept closer to the lady so he could better see the map she conjured.

“I will make the gate work for me.”

If it was a matter of willpower... He was the former High Priest of Cephiro a master of willpower focused magic and he had plenty of reason to return home. Something he usually kept quiet about but on this occasion found himself in a rare moment of being too open.

“In order to save her I must return to Cephiro.”

"There is one Gate in each City district," she indicates them all on the map. "If you have the will for it, each one of these can take you home."

It was strange, having someone loom so close as Zagato was doing. Clef would have a heart attack at the very thought, of course, and to be honest Zelda found it a bit uneasy on general principle. Still, it gave her a way to observe the newcomer and...

Curious. So intent on getting back...in his place, Ganondorf would have looked around, the better to see if there was something here he could take advantage of....

And her...Emeraude, as he had mentioned? Possibly. Clef had only mentioned so many women among their shared acquaintances on Cephiro...

"Is there someone who needs saving, then? Or would it be rude to ask?"

It wasn't rude but Zagato took a step back as if retreating from his earlier statement about needing to 'save her' all the same. It was unusual to have some one actually ask about this but then he would never have said 'she needed saving' in Cephiro at all. Even that thought was a devastating crime.
So how much should he say about it now?

"Princess Emeraude."

Quite a lot really. There wasn't much more harm that could be done because of a loose tongue.

"I understand this world is also based on will so perhaps you can tell me if you would think this world was a beautiful place if it meant one person had to suffer in order to support the happiness of everyone else?"
