"Yeah, a dragon. Oh he was so much fun when we first met. And I miss him, but no. So far just me and this fellow and the dingbots here so far from home. I miss the others though. Just as much as I miss Zeetha and Violetta." And not quite the same way she missed Gil and Tarvek. But that was totally just worry. Completely.

She chuckled. "Jagermonsters have a thing about hats. Generally you have to earn one for it to count, by winning a fight with the person who is wearing the hat you want. And generally the larger the hat the more they like it. Apparently they actually gifted one to Gil! I can't wait to see it once everything is fixed back home."

And if what Zeetha told her is at all accurate, she was going to have the hardest time not laughing in his face.

She lifted the creature and held it out for him to inspect. "He's a wasp eater. They're from home. This one is bound to me, though. Long story, but basically he and I need each other to survive, and his kind is key to the survival of my world. Someone tried to kill them all off. I made sure before I wound up here that they're going to have a population boom. This little fellow? He and his siblings may jist save my world. Well, with a little help from the rest of us."
