She huffed a bit, and shook her head. Why the *****s was it always her? weren't there other people on the **** Task Force? Hope was not around her neck, and her tabard was gone, but otherwise... Kaylin was Kaylin. Her palms rested easily on the pommels of her daggers, and her neck cricked up to talk to someone as ***** tall as he was.

"Okay. Short version. Not your **** world. The people here call this place Nautilus. Place where all worlds intersect or overlap or whatever ***** they're saying this week. Center of Chaos, Shadows, and *****ed storms that will mess the *****s out of you. There are welcome houses in every district, some sort of temple past the teleporter pad that way," she was pointing in the wrong direction. "And the Task force headquarters that way." Again. Wrong Direction. Because she's Kaylin.

"Nautilus." His eyebrows raise up as he looks around curiously. He looks in the directions she points out, not knowing for himself that her directions are less than accurate, at best.

"Can't say I've heard of it, but that wouldn't be the first time." He looks up at the sky again, squinting. "It's an improvement, at least."

"This is an improvement? Must be some ***** bad world you come from," she muttered.

"It was a rough day." Being in Outworld was always a bad day, but his last memories had been a special kind of bad day. He suddenly seems to remember his manners and gives her a polite half-bow and nod of his head.

"My name is Raiden."

"Kaylin. Private Kaylin Neya of the Hawks and Task Force. And it must have been. This place is *****s on a stick."

"I'll have to take your word for it, Private Neya." He means that, at least.

"Stay here long enough, you'll see for yourself. If it's not the ******ed monsters, it's the ******ed storms..." She stopped. Frowned. "The monsters that look like stone statues of Aeryians? Don't let them touch you."

"Aeryians?" Sounds like a realm with plenty of its own troubles, for sure. Even so, it still beat being stuck in Shao Kahn's dungeons. That probably said a lot.

"Humans with wings." Oh the painful longing on the word wings. Because Kaylin's face is, as it has always been, an open book.

"Stone statues of winged humans..." He reiterates, using her words to bring an image to mind, and it's more like a gargoyle than the image of the friendly Aeryians of her homeworld.

"I'll make certain to keep that in mind." He hasn't missed her longing at wings. Perhaps she'd had them once, or knew someone who did? He wouldn't know.

"Thank you."

She nodded. "LAst time one of them touched me, I because a *****Ed kid again." No way in *****s was she doing that AGAIN if she could avoid it. Third ***** time this ***** place turned her into Elianne! so much anger in her faces, mostly as a mask because anger was easier than pain.

"I can see how that would be inconvenient." Raiden isn't certain what his experience would be with that, but at least he knows now how to avoid it.

"The Spiders aren't that big a deal, they're weaker than Ferals and even stupider...." She shrugged.

"I believe that I should be able to manage spiders."

[kaylinneya]

"Good, then what else do you need to know?" she asked, at her rest stance, already counting down the minutes until she could justify this world's version of clocking the ****s out.
