"Or what, you're going to poke me to death?" He asked, unimpressed. The he frowned. "Wait, that stick looks familiar.... OH! I hid one of those in the Doctor's shoes last week!" Maybe next time the Doctor would remember to feed him on time......

At the mention of The Doctor, the sonic paused and pointed up and away from the cat on her shoulder. " Did you now? I suppose he did something to deserve it. He usually does."

"He utterly failed to feed me. You're not going to make the same mistake, I hope?"

That does sound like something he would do. River chuckled as she finally put her screwdriver away. " i doubt i would make the same mistake when it comes to a handsome cat like yourself. I might even throw in a little extra from time to time if you do me a few favora every once in a while."

"Bribes? Sure! The ocean is that way, let's go fishing while we discuss the details!"

Just something about that made her laugh as she glanced in the direction he indicated and started to walk. "Then how about you tell me about The Doctor while we walk. I'd love to know more about the man that has a screwdriver like mine."

"Sure!" He considered. "Which one of him? I think two of them have sticks like that. I think Rose has one too." Rose was generally more willing to go fishing, so he messed with her stuff less often. Plus there were moments when she was a little too much like Luna, and he was just getting used to not being bodily thrown into walls when he spoiled a romantic mood.

"Two with sticks like mine? Are there others that don't yet?" She was genuinely curious considering that even for her, meeting more than one incarnation of her husband at one time was a rare treat.

However, the moment the cat mentioned Rose, there was a faint pause in River's step before she kept walking. Interesting..." Could you tell me what they all look like?"

"Sure. The one who adopted my humans wears sneakers and smells like Rose and hair gel. The one that turns into a wolf mostly scowls and pretends to be Jacob and smells almost as much like Rose. The one that gives good pets and treats lays down a lot and has curly hair and smells like candy and the other one. The other one I don't see much, he rarely comes around when I'm in the Tardis."

Not. Helpful. Spark....

...Not in the slightest. The first one he mentioned left her surprisingly clueless. Sneakers and hair gel? That was a new one on her. But, another one that scowls and smells like... Rose? Why did two versions of her husband smell like Rose?

As for the other two.. at least the curly hair was a decent hint. Though, the last... again, she'd need more to go on.

"The one with curly hair, does he like scarves at all?" May as well go for the easy one at least. "And the one that scowls a lot, does he wear a leather jacket and have funny ears?" ....Again, easy guesses. At least, she hoped that it might narrow things down. Even if she had no idea what the cat was referring to by him turning into a wolf.

"Yeah, well, one really long scarves. And bright colours that even I can tell don't go together. The other.... leather jacket yes. But the ears?" he poked through her hair with a paw. "As funny looking as your ears. All round and pink." Humans all had weird ears, okay? And then he perked up, smelling the ocean. She'd see it soon after.

At least that confirmed one of her suspicions and potentially the second. That gave River a little more of an idea of how to handle the errant versions of her husband at the very least.

Though the comment about the ears did make her chuckle and the cat was about to find out River did have quite a lot of hair to poke through.

Sure enough, she saw the ocean not long after smelling it. Now, the question was, just how was she supposed to go fishing? She didn't have a pole or equipment other than her sonic.

"Great! We're here, now all we need is a pole and some string!" Someone was all but vibrating with excitement on her shoulder.

"Unless you know where we can find those things, I'm sadly lacking the ability to get you your fish."

There was definitely amusement in her voice as she stopped a few yards from the waterfront.

He dropped down and glared at her. He could shift to Gar, and Bend the things... in theory, he could Bend the things as a cat... but...

He pointed his tail at the branch of a tree. "Pole. Are you clever enough to find a rope or are you just stringing me along? I'm willing to go out on a limb for a leap of faith in you, but are you going to leave me high and dry, or prove that I'm really all wet?"

Somehow, seeing the cat upset made her laugh and moments later she was kneeling down to get onto his level with a smirk that held a hint of danger to it.

"Do you really want to find out how clever I am? It might just scare you. But, I'll bite. Branch and string huh? Primitive, but, it works. Now all I'd need it bait."

"Oh, we don't need bait. Just the branch and the string, you'll see. But go get them, don't leave me hanging...." Huuuuuge feline grin. He wasn't intimidated.
