She held the door open for her. "As I said. Much to discuss," she said, a small amused smile on her lips. Oh she was so looking forward to River smacking Rose down!

Getting that as an answer was never a good sign when it came to a certain husband of hers and it was very telling. So very reluctantly, River entered the dinner and waited for the door to shut.

"Seeing as there's much to discuss, I'm assuming more than one version of my dear husband and he's being an idiot as usual."

She closed and locked the door, then slid into a bench, her back to the door, as if she didn't care who might come up behind them, presuming River would slide in across from her. "Four of him, to be specific. As well as a number of people from Torchwood," Not her favorite organization, though they were slightly less irritating than Unit if you ignored Jack. "A Tardis that isn't a Tardis," Two of them, really. "A dalek who is under my protection, thank you very much, a number of weeping angels who are not, and Rose Tyler." Was she forgetting anyone? She didn't think so. Donna and Clara had both left some time ago. And the way she said Rose's name made it clear she held the woman in disdain. Well, she was really more of a child than a woman, wasn't she?

River slid into the bench across from her and remained silent as she listened. As she heard the list of people, her face was calm, though there was a bit of a frown as Me went on to list not only Torchwood, but a Dalek and Weeping Angels.

In fact, at the mentioning of the Angels, her features became a little less thrilled considering her history with the creatures. Then there was Rose Tyler. Immediately she could tell Me didn't like the woman and River had never met her. However, she knew the stories. There were certain perks of the TARDIS liking her.

"Which four and why are you protecting a Dalek?" She would be asking about the Torchwood people soon enough, though surprisingly, she might actually prefer Unit over them. Maybe.

"They've given me numbers, though I suspect those designations are as much lies as anything else that has been said by them. Ten is the one who has proven to lie the most, he is the one who owns and lives in their Tardis at the moment. Suit, long tie, sand shoes, irritating voice. Then the one right before him, black leather jacket, chip on his shoulder the size of the lost moon of Poosh. Then there is Four, curls long scarf candy obsession and without a doubt one of the rudest faces he has perhaps ever had." At least to her. "And Eight who seems to have a worse memory than my own."

"As to why I am protecting a Dalek, it is because I offered and the offer was accepted, and genocide can be generally irritating. Further, as this place likes to play games with people, and with our minds, it was for the best to keep the dalek separate from the Doctor. Since three out of four of the Doctors here hate Me, with me seemed the best option."

Knowing the Doctor lies was nothing new to River. That was rule number one after all.

However, three of the four Doctors she mentioned, River could place and she knew she had drawings of them in her diary. However, the first Me mentioned was one River hadn't met yet... which was a small bit of a surprise to her.

"In other words, two of them are much younger versions of him from before the Time War and then there is one of him from right after." Which explained the giant moon sized chip on his shoulder. "I don't think I ever met the one right after that."

At least, not yet.

"Then perhaps I should stay away from your Dalek as well. A woman with my reputation tends to scare even them." River was dangerous, especially to The Doctor's enemies.

"It also doesn't surprise me that three of him may hate you."

"Well, I'll happily make that introduction," she said with a smirking grin. "As to the Dalek, you follow the same rules the dalek must follow, and accept the same penalties for failure, I have no concerns with you meeting."

She didn't outwardly react to that last comment, but still. the Doctor was all the friend left she had in the universe, and the only version to know and not hate her... couldn't remember her from meeting to meeting.

"See that you do. It's very rare that I don't know a face of his." It also left her feeling a little uneasy to say the least.

"And exactly what are the roles that your pet need to follow?" In a way, she really was curious. As for River's last comment, it wasn't meant to hurt. It was a statement of fact just knowing how the younger versions of her husband were. Hell, there were versions of him even she didn't get along with that well despite loving him.

"I will. And I will enjoy it."

"Rusty is no pet. But they are the same rules as I had the last time I harbored those the Doctor hated, fought, and left behind to die. Do no harm of any sort to each other. No theft, no violence. Because the response is the same to any crime. No forgiveness." She drew a finger down her own throat and as she did, black swirls appeared. "Any crime, any at all, is met with the same fate. You agree to follow the rules, and then trespass, you face the raven."

"I'm beginning to wonder why that is."

So Lady Me was still playing by those rules. Personally, River didn't see anything wrong with them when it came to what was left in The Doctor's wake. Of course, River was never one to live by anyone's rules but her own.

Even so, she doubted even she would survive and encounter with Lady Me's raven.

"I see. In other word, leave the Dalek alone and play nice. Somehow, I have a feeling once he hears my name, he might experience a bit of fear anyway."

"Wonder all you like."

"Fear won't kill either of you," she said, blandly. Then she stood. "I believe we discussed wine, however." She headed over for the long counter.

"Yes, we did and now that you've got me slightly updated on The Doctor, how about telling me a bit about where we are. I don't recognize any of it from any point in history. "

There were still quite a few questions that needed answers and she would get back to asking more about The Doctor... once she had a better point of reference to what was really going on.

She pulled out two large glasses from behind the bar, considered, then knelt down like she was looking for something, she came back up with a bottle of wine, and A large bag of supermarket popcorn. She brought over the wine and the glasses, then doubled back for a large bowl, filled it with popcorn, and brought it over. She suspected she was going to want some for the reactions that were to come.

"Oh, there is a lot to tell. There are some guides, but they're impersonal, dry, and hard to believe. I'm much more into showing, the telling. So tell me, River. All you've seen, do you believe in magic?" A grin.

"The real stuff, not light of hand hocus pocus, that is," she clarified as she poured the wine for each of them.
