The smile on her lips fades as he speaks and she can feel her hearts tighten up as her hands slip into her pockets while she just studies him and debates just what to say to all of that...

"Yet you seem to know who I am. Funny how our timelines never match up right." Her voice was calm and quiet, even if she was trying to hide a bit of hurt.

"Hope you know, this wouldn't be the first time we've been married to other people while also being married to each other. I know that loving you means sharing you, no matter what face you wear or when in each other's timeline we meet up."

She started to move towards him, only stopping a few feet from him as she kept looking in his eyes, just... searching for something to put herself at ease. "But, make no mistake, I may have married a future version of you, but, I love all of you. Even the parts of you that don't know me yet or don't love me back. That will never change...besides, I knew what I was getting into when I said 'I do'."

Ten gives her a rather cheeky smile about time lines not matching up because sounds like the lives of time travelers. Though the cheekiness is soon to fade.

However, much better to be straightforward than have a 'song and dance' down the road. Epsically considering, Ten and Rose have had talks regarding River before River is had come here. Now, if only Rose could understand what River and The Doctor understand.

But the words, 'petty' and 'jealous' in Rose's voice echo in his head. There's only a whisper of; "Yeah."

He knew there was going to be hurt feelings but it was better this way than the long way around.

Then a pause; and bends River up a more proper coat more suitable for this winter weather and offers that to her.

She smiles slightly as she takes the coat and slips it on. A few tugs later and she had it snug around her and felt a little more relaxed. So that was it then. That's where they stood.

Even if it hurt, she accepted it. After all, when one loved a man like him, things like this were to be expected. Of course, if he expected River to change her ways just like that, he had another thing coming.

"This is usually the part where I ask about comparing diaries, but, I think we can skip that step this time. Somehow, I have a feeling it would lead to spoilers I'm not ready for yet."

"Well, it's no spoilers on what's happened here... I've been here. This face of mine for over a year's time. Hot chocolate? Tea?" Which Ten is already leading the way.

"A year and this place is still standing? That must be a record for you." She smiled and really couldn't resist teasing. Even if he didn't like it, he would have to deal. River could no more stop her teasing or her flirting than she could stop her hearts from beating.
