so Sora's used to seeing 2 (two) different types of dogs. the first type walks on four legs and has paws and doesn't really communicate at all, outside of barking, because it's a dog. they just play fetch and stuff, you know? the second kind has hands and walks on two legs and wears clothes and can beat up Heartless with you.
Gromit doesn't. really. seem to fall into either category. it's kind of creepy, actually, and he ends up just staring for a long while.]
Uhhh... [oh, right, he was focusing on something important, wasn't he? he shakes his head just slightly to pull his own focus back to the matter at hand and purposefully tries to look at the notepad instead to get himself back on track.] That's great, thanks! Okay, the first one's...
[does he want to try and distinguish between different dog types while talking to a dog? no.]
...a duck. Write that down, okay?

Gromit notes the boy's hesitation--perhaps he's not used to meeting intelligent animals? He knows quite a lot of people were surprised at the fact Gromit could put together such complex machinery and...well, do most things, actually. It would probably be easier if he could actually speak, but he really doesn't mind it.
He takes a moment to write down "DUCK" before pausing and looking quizzically towards Sora. If one of his friends is a duck, then he does have experience dealing with intelligent animals. Unless it was a pet duck or something. He makes a small waving motion with his hand--maybe Sora should elaborate a little more.]

he puts a hand to his chin, eyes gazing upwards as he tries to remember whatever Donald was last wearing.]
Umm... he wears a hat, but he doesn't wear any pants... [now that he thinks about it that's a little weird too] and he's really angry. All the time. If he isn't yelling, then you've got the wrong duck.
[he almost laughs a little just thinking of it, but then sobers up.]
But I think that's about it for Donald... let me know when you've got all that!

At that description, Gromit's expression changes from quizzical to concerned. Angry all the time? Is he sure that this duck is his friend? Gromit's met some pretty fowl (excuse the pun) birds in the past, and he wouldn't put it past another one to try and take advantage of some child's kindness.
Nevertheless, he writes the description down, and, after a moment's consideration, draws a simple sketch underneath his writing. When he's done, he holds his notepad out to Sora.]

Sora's practically bouncing with impatience by the time Gromit hands over the notepad, and he grabs it with excitement, looking it over before glancing up briefly.]
Oh, your name's Gromit? Well, I'm Sora! Lemme see...
[he goes right back to reading through the small list, nodding to himself thoughtfully. squinting at the image, he tries to recall what Donald looked like the last time he saw him--
--and then nods to himself again, with much more enthusiasm this time, handing the notepad back to Gromit with a sincere grin.]
Yep, that looks just like him!
