Oh MY GOSH I'm SO LATE

Connie was literally floating on a cloud today. Sure, she certainly could fly now, but there was something happily nostalgic about using this old means of transportation that she found just as inviting (and less show-offy). It was one of those few times where Connie actually had some free time, and boy, had she missed that. Just taking her time, idling by, seeing Pearl scrambling aro-WAIT A MINUTE. Connie practically fell off her cloud, but luckily righted herself up and touched ground immediately, running over to her mentor. Without realizing it she was at top speed, so when she collided with Pearl it was enough to knock over both the gem and Connie herself. She hugged Pearl tight, and also surprising, was tearing up. "You're here! I can't believe it! You're here! Oh gosh, I have so much to tell you, I..." Connie trailed off, remembering her place. "I mean, uh, my apologies, ma'am. I'm just really glad to see you here!"

THAT IS OKAY, this is so awesome!

Pearl hadn't seen Connie pass by; wasn't aware of her pupil's presence until someone had smacked right into her. At first, she was ready to scold, but - she was being hugged. And she knew that voice...

A gasp escaped Pearl and she returned the hug, tearing up as well. "Connie!" she exclaimed, shocked and delighted. "I can't believe you're here, too - Where are we? Are you alright?"

Connie will be SO happy...and then will have to explain why there's a place like Steven's home...

Connie had actually gotten very good at being fast: all of that training hadn't been in vain. She couldn't help it though-it had been SO long since anyone from her world had been here, and the only time Connie got to see them is when she went back home.

"It's been so long! I can't believe it! Ok, so we're in the Nautilus, which is sort of the nexus of worlds. I'm all right though: it might not seem like it, but I've actually been here a very long time. Did you just get here?"

Haha, oh gosh...

Pearl's face contorted in confusion. "So... Long? Connie, slow down. I'm not - I'm not following. How have you been here a very long time? I did just get here, but I was also just with you..."

Poor Connie, she's actually SEEN Pearl here before but she was very different

"Well."

Connie cleared her throat. "When I first arrived, you were already here with Garnet, and you were living in a facsimile of the Beach House in Beach City minus the temple and the statue, although the hand was still there. Anyway, because of the nature of this place, I can actually leave here, go back to my world and it'll be as if I never left. In that way I've...sort of been here three years. Not everyone can do this, not at first anyway."

Wait until she asked about THIS version of Pearl, ho boy. Let's not even get started on how Steven was here twice.
