Alya didn't think too much about seeing a cat run up to her - aside from maybe ah, so there are cats in this place too. There was some small amount of concern as it decided to run up a tree (Were there firefighters in this place? Should she call one to get it down?) but that concern proved to be unneeded when Spark launched himself at her.

Torn between trying to dodge and trying to catch him, she hesitated just long enough for him to execute a flawless landing on her shoulder.

And then he talked. Okay. Talking cat. Weird, but what was even weirder was the fact that the cat knew her name - and Nino's and Adrien's, apparently?

"Whoa, hey, slow down, little guy." She brought up a hand to tentatively scratch Spark behind the ears. "Let's start from square one: how do you know me?"

He moved into the scritching, enjoying it, so she would notice when he stiffened and went very very still.

After a long moment, he narrowed his eyes and tilted her head trying to figure out if she was messing with him. He hoped she was, but had a sinking feeling that she was serious.

"I know I told you to get a sense of humour, if this is you trying to do that, you're failing." This wasn't funny.

This was going to become a theme. Alya could already tell.

Sadly, she was entirely serious, and that was cemented when she shook her head and spoke again. "I'm not trying joke around," she insisted. No joke, no failure - but there was going to be disappointment. She could tell that too.

"I just woke up not too long ago - I don't think I know anyone here yet."

His ears fell and he drooped, dropping over her shoulder, trying not to be sad, because no one wanted a sad cat, but he was failing. "You were here... for a while. Then you left. So did Kiri." Poking to see if they were the same? Perhaps. "Nino's been sulking ever since, and Adrien misses you, and Marinette does also. And the Doctor - the fluffy hair one who smells like Rose - he got all sad on the Network staring at the doll of you..."

She didn't know who Kiri was, but Spark looked sad enough already without her pointing that out. She ran her hand through his fur, trying to pet him into calming down a little because she knew that what she had to say probably wasn't going to help matters at all.

"...look, I'm sorry. I don't remember being here before. I do know some of the people you've mentioned, from home, but..."

The people she hadn't known before were out of luck, apparently.

"I'm here now. Maybe I don't remember what happened the first time around, but we can make new memories. How does that sound?"

He hesitated, then nodded, rubbing against her a bit.

Then he wondered... what if this was an Alya from another reality... He considered that. It could mean this was another storm, like the one where they were orphans and...

"What do you know about Adrien's twin brother?" he asked, consideringly.

"Uh... I'm pretty sure he's an only child."

Well, that answered that question.

Yeah it did, and made him sorry he asked. "Come on, let's go find the Doctor and Rose, they'll know what to do. And they should have fish."
