Nino merely grins at the silent thank you. He looks at her phone and saw that spider akuma. Somehow he's not surprised that Nora would become a giant spider.

"Or clothes. Maybe have the power to give people wardrobe malfunctions?" That would be kinda funny (as long as he wasn't a target or had to fight her).

He watches the video and his eyes widen in shock. There's no mistaking it. That's himself in green. How could he not recognize that? Looks like him and Adrien were right. Turtle really is what Miraculous he would get.

Then he forces himself to calm down. "W-Wow that's so cool." He blinks in surprise at the last bit, then makes a look of concern. "Save you? Did you get harmed by that akuma?"

Alya snaps her fingers as it occurs to her.

"She'd put people in magical time-outs! That's what she'd do."

Imagining her relatives as supervillains was, perhaps, a little morbid, but it took some of the sting out of it if they could joke about it. (Hopefully Papillon wouldn't overhear and get any ideas.)

"Nah, Nora didn't hurt me. She just stuck me up in a spiderweb for a little while because she was trying to teach me a lesson about Paris being dangerous or whatever." To be fair, Alya did have an unfortunate habit of running headlong into danger without any regard for her own safety. Nora's concerns definitely weren't unwarranted. "Chat Noir got stuck too, can you believe it? I guess he didn't realize the web was going to be sticky. But you held Nora off for a little while before Ladybug got you somewhere safe and brought Carapace over. You've got some mad staff skills, you know."

Nino couldn't help but chuckle at that. "Yikes. That would be one scary akuma."

"She clearly means well. Oh geez, really? Poor Chat." That last part surprises him. "Wait, I actually fought her off?" Guess maybe that AU wasn't that far off after all. "Well you were in danger so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Glad that Carapace guy helped Ladybug save the day."

He should consider going home again. Maybe January? Novembers are pretty rough and then there's Christmas.

"You sure did."

For a little while, anyway. Until Nora just flung him right into the sky. Alya purposefully neglects to mention that part, knowing that if he does actually experience it for himself he'll know what happened and that until then, there's not much point in teasing him about it.

"You and me both. But you said there were more superheroes here, right? I'm a little disappointed I don't get to meet Ladybug two-point-oh, but maybe I'll get to meet Chat Deux one of these days, hmm?"

Well time is strange in Nautilus so spoilers don't really matter.

"Well she went by Bandanna Ladybug since her suit's different than Ladybug Prime." He bends up a picture to show a familiar yet not familiar superhero.

He then shrugs. "Maybe. He tends to keep to himself though he sometimes talks on the network."

Well.

That... sure is a thing. Alya's jaw drops none-too-subtly as she looks at the picture, because that... sure does look a lot like herself in a red-spotted suit, doesn't it? Suddenly she realizes how Nino must have felt when she whipped out the video of Carapace a minute ago.

"She looks pretty cool too! Sounds like I missed a lot of interesting stuff. You'll have to help me get caught up." She has so many questions. So many questions. "Or maybe I can ask Chat Deux on the network? Did he and Bandanna Ladybug work together like our Ladybug and Chat Noir do?"

Nino can't hide his grin. Looks like they are even on that front.

"No problem." Hmmm... "He might answer, but he's rather rough around the edges. Yeah they did. They come from a different Paris. One where less akumas happened and they had to deal with a guy named Renard. Basically a guy Volpina, but the real deal, not an akuma."

Not really but AU memories are sure a thing.

"He can't be worse than Chloé," she quipped, shrugging. Rough around the edge or no, she was sure no one would be that bad. She could deal.

Probably.

"This Renard guy got a Miraculous and decided to use it for evil? Lame. There's so much good you could do with a power like that!" Granted, she's a little defensive about it because in their Paris it was her power, but hey... "Has he shown up here? Maybe I-- err, I mean Rena Rouge could teach him a lesson."

A beat.

"If she comes back."

Subtle.

Nino raises an eyebrow. "Chloe? Naw, he's not mean. Just acts tough."

He doesn't blame her. "Well he apparently helped them with their own Volpina once, though he did try to steal Ladybug's and Chat's Miraculous more often than not.

Sort of. There was a thing where you, me, Adrien and our Chat had fake memories. The Reality Storm turned him into Renard, but he's fine now.

Oh right I should explain how things work here."

He should also explain bending but he'll do that in a while.

"Every month, a thing called a Reality Storm happens and depending on the storm, weird things happen. Sometimes it's fake memories, sometimes it's turning people into animals, sometimes it's something like last Halloween when a bunch of monsters attacked the city and everyone's powers were not working."

"Cool."

That is, perhaps, not the typical reaction to hearing about this kind of thing, but this is Alya "sees a supervillain and immediately decides to chase after it on the off-chance there will be a superhero" Césaire we're talking about here.

"It sounds like something out of a comic book or a video game. I can't wait! When's the next one?"

Oh Alya. Never change.

"It can be cool sometimes, but there have been plenty of bad ones. Like the monster thing I mentioned and the bad luck one in April."

Mostly because of his and Adrien's deaths.

"I dunno. It doesn't really have a set date other than it happens once a month usually. And there's been plenty of holiday-themed ones. Halloween, Christmas and Valentines Day."

Speaking of which...

"Since Halloween is coming up, it'll likely be about a week before then. So pretty soon actually. Hopefully it's less crazy this time."

It's baffling to him why the city does mostly american holidays.

If Alya ever finds out about their deaths, there will be hell to pay. So, of course, this means we have to figure out the perfect time for her to find out about them.

Until then - she grins at him.

"Even if it is crazy, it's not like it'll be the first time you and I have been in trouble together." Or even the second. Or the third, or the fourth... "I won't sweat it, so don't you worry either, okay?"

Well it was all an accident, so there's no one to blame unless she wants to blame fate itself.

And yes indeed we'll have to find the perfect time for that.

"Yeah that's true." He nods and relaxes. "Okay."

Now that's done. Time for more stuff to explain.

"Anyway, this place brings people from different times and worlds. You're obviously farther ahead than me and I think everyone else from Paris."

He doesn't need to ask.

"Time's weird here basically. Also..." he bends up an orange rose. "In this place, you can use bending once you've practiced and got it down. It's mainly the way some people get their powers back."

Aka how Alya can eventually get her Rena Rouge powers back.
