Re: Lydia Deetz | Beetlejuice
He was... he was something. A short person, the size of a child, that looked like some 10 year old boy who had rummaged in a bin full of adult sized costumes to come out with an over large cloak like thing that had an inner robe like thing, all in all it was short enough to not trip him but trailed behind him and looked in every other way just several sizes too large for him.
And his lack of height was emphasized by the staff he carried, the top of which curved down, and its lowest point was still over his head.
Staff, gloves, hair, cloak... all were festooned with large gems, polished and rounded rather than faceted. And if all of that didn't look odd enough for her... He was standing inside a spherical shield that had a sheen of colour, but could otherwise be seen through. The shield covered over his head and down into the ground under his feet. As he was currently floating so that he was of an eye height with her, that meant that she could see dirt and grass at the bottom of his bubble.

"Well, I guess ... to start with ..." She tilted her head. "Are we dead? And if we aren't, how are you doing that?"

Without being dead, that was the only type of magic she'd witnessed ... and even that had had its limits. She edged closer to the bubble, reaching out to poke it and see what it felt like.
