Such a mess Rose
But she's got a metaphorical gut punch as she sees who is all up in her space.
"Rose Tyler," she whispered, eyes wide.
"Rose! Tyler!" She said, dropping the part and her hands go to Rose's cheeks and she's grinning widely, looking a little misty eyed. "Oh, that probably explains a few things, but you're Rose! Rose Tyler!" She said and pulled her close and kissed her cheek. "Oh you beautiful thing you."

Rose calmed down some, mostly, a lot anyway, and waggled her fingers. "Hallo!" And hugged the Doctor anyway, because the Doctor is the Doctor, and it's a relief to be known!

And... "Wait, have you gotten taller? I remember you being a lot shorter," she said, leaning back to look her over.

Rose took a step back and compared their heads with a hand. "You're even shorter than the Knave of Hearts -- ah your 8th regen, I think. But I dunno on 2 or 7. I heard they were shorter, but your three tallest aren't fair to compare to. You should see me standing next to Four." Rose scrunched her nose and made a face! "He calls me a dot because o' how big he is. Totally unfair." A pout. But then there was soon more laughs and another hug. "How are you? How long has it been? New body, or just...?" She didn't want to finish the end of that line of thought. So she didn't.

Well, that is a lot of information.
"Years get a little fuzzy. Been a while. Long while. Centuries or billions of years, depending on what you count. Been married and been back to Gallifrey. Died a few times. Just last week, in fact, still sorting out a few things, but got new friends. Yaz, Ryan, Graham. Got to meet Rosa Parks, a US civil rights hero," she said.
She draped an arm round Rose's shoulders. "Now since you're not screaming or running, I assume we got a tick to grab a bite and you can explain all that you just said? Because I just had an adventure with the first and usually there's longer between."

"Met your wife River Song, yeah. Or were there others? There were others, yeah?" a face scrunch, "I swear..." A pout.
"I know who Rosa Parks is. Name-dropper," Rose stuck her tongue out at the Doctor.
"Mmn!" A blink, "Wait what? Noooooooo that's not fair! I wanna meet your first still!" Another hug, and Rose took the Doctor's hand, pleased as punch for it to fit as great as always, and gave a manic grin the Doctor was usually giving Rose. "You ready? Run!" and she dragged her off to get chips of course and explain Nautilus over tea and chips.
"I really do gotta make a our-friends-universe version of the intro guide," Rose said after delivering all the usual expose, as she drenched a chip in vinegar and salt and pepper.
"Okay," she giggled and nudged her knee to 13's. "I'll tell you everything and anything you want, but I want stories too! I've been starved for news of the future. River and I aren't exactly besties, the Master is as bad as I am, Romana is from your 4th's face, and Lady Me has her head so far up her bum I'm pretty sure there's a technical species of tubeworms that do that, but I don't have any knowledge of it, and all I can do is my best to keep Ten from going off the deep-end."
She swirled her chip around in the vinegar mix with a small frown. "I was letting him live in denial for as long as I could, but the Master and River..." She peered into the Doctor's eyes, taking note that they were hazel. Not blue. New. Well first time she was a woman too. "Was I wrong, Doctor?" she pushed her hair back with a hand, but then smiled softly and pushed part of the Doctor's hair back too, tucking it behind an ear and smiling even more. "Love the earrings." Deep breath and she stole one of the Doctor's hands again. "I... I think..." she glanced away and dropped the hand. Breathe. "I might be a tad overwhelmed." A laugh and a grin. "Just a smidge." She held her fingers up slightly apart. "Not bad! Usually. Well. Mostly. Just you know. Everyone expects him to be someone else. You. The Doctor. I get it really, you're shaped by experiences and change with every face, and if people only know others faces..."
Rose's own face darkened slightly. "I don't like it. Lady Me acting like I'm making him worse, all of him, just by knowing him. River's worried I'm trying to steal all of you, and I get all... my heart goes out to her for every little pain I can't even deal with my own, yeah? And --" she grit her teeth and looked up at the ceiling. She was trying to get better about not stuffing everything in boxes, like Four did. But at the same time... maybe it was a good way to deal with things. Wasn't she happier when she still was doing that? "But what if I am?" she looked seriously at the Doctor again, searching, hoping, she didn't even know for what precisely. "Blimey I'm sorry, this is so heavy -- Look, just, put a bookmark on this, and save it for later. Slowly. A couple weeks. Check up on me and don't let me run from it."
Rose shook her head and grinned instead, "Instead tell me about your new fri--" Rose scrunched her face to the side. And then wrinkled her nose. And then nodded determinedly! "Yeah! Tell me about them. Team TARDIS." A snort. What about Jack? She was going to punch the Doctor one of these days for not going back for Jack. And another headshake, "Or Gallifrey? Is it... Is it good that it's back? That's been... the biggest headache! Timelords thinking it was gone, Lady Me saying it could only be gotten back through the confession dial, even if I skipped over that part with Fluffy -- err Ten, s'what we call him, because he's insanely prickly, well and Fluffy too. I love when he's Fluffy -- Even without him knowing how it happens, that he could just get it back, he's all 'Rassilon, the war, the horrors of the war,' and I can say it all works out, but I can't -- I dunno," Rose's shoulders slumped and she faceplanted on the table.
And then sat back up like a shot. "Oh! But it's good! Here! I love it! Listen to me go on, no I do though! I wouldn't trade it for anything! The storms are fun, we got to go see different universes, Oh!!! We went to Disney universes. You think Disney World is great? That's nothing. We went to the Lion King and were lions, me and Fluffy did. It was so funny! His mane... And Atlantis, but not the version you went to as 2, and just -- Oh!!!" Rose flailed both hands, "Bilbo Baggins' Bag End is here! How brilliant is that?!" she squeaked excitedly. "And the storms ARE pretty fun! Fluffy was err... you! 9 was female too um. I wonder if that's your regeneration after you for irony??? They were both so fine," she gave a dirty smirk with her tongue peeking out the side. "And I can turn into a real wolf! And a snake. And --" she paused and thought. Bad Wolf. "Some other stuff." A giggle and she shook her head. And then furrowed her brow. "You'll probably wanna stay with River then, right?" a sigh. And a head tilt. "Just tell me --"
She chewed her bottom lip in thought. "Not if I'm doing it wrong... but I dunno. I don't even know how to sort it out in my head anymore, yeah? I dunno if it's just because I used to have Mum and Micks and others, or I mean I've still got like 6 kids, yeah? We accidentally just took to lookin' after 'em, and I remember runnin' away at their age so. No same mistakes and all that, yeah? And Jack's married to Ianto here and that's bliss!" She tilted her head back with a laugh, "Ohhhh you should see Jack and Lady Me together. That's amazing, that is." She scrunched into her hoodie. "I think... I want forgiveness... Just to be... told that --" she shook her head again. "I dunno. Slow reveal right? Tell me about your team."

Thirteen frowned, tapping her chin. "Ummm....might have gotten married once or twice more? You know how it gets. But River is my only wife. The one I kept a ring for," she said. She actually needed to find it. She KNOWS it's in the TARDIS somewhere, she just has to find it.
"It was brilliant! You would be so proud of me, it was an actual time adventure where we just protected history instead of influencing it. Had to stop someone else from trying to mess it up. Feel bad for Graham, he kind of had to help maintain it in an unpleasant way, but Rosa was absolutely brilliant all on her own," she said.
"Do it before he starts regenerating. He gets kind of unpleasant a bit while transitioning," she said with a grimace. Really, what was he going on about, Time Lords didn't even have those gender stereotypes! Probably got all messed up with exposure to television or something.
But she grabs Rose's hand and runs with her. At least she can keep up with Rose, just a little more pumping of her legs.
Thirteen had a more of a fix of stuff in front of her. She had just kind of rattled off food items as they came to mind and ended up with a lot to try. Not that she's complaining. She's still figuring out what she likes. Beyond custard cream biscuits. Custard is a constant, she thinks. She's liked it several times now.
Her attention shifted between Rose, the food, and the guide on the phone she's gotten at some point. Was it Ryan's? Might have been Ryan's. Though she looked up at the list and then there's a disappointed look. "Oh, really? I so hoped you and River would get along, you have a lot in common. And a lot not. But she's brilliant and you're brilliant, though I guess maybe that's the problem."
She picked up a strawberry milkshakes, taking a long sip, looking it over thoughtfully before setting it down as she listened to Rose talk on. She beams a bit at the compliment. "About the only thing Yaz liked when I tried on outfits," she said. She wasn't usually one for delicate jewelry, but it had called to her. Plus it's handy to have a thin bit of metal sometimes.
"Well, we got a few things. First things first. Gallifrey?" She waved a hand in a so-so gesture. "Bit of a mixed bag. There's some good, some bad. Less likely to go on a Time War, so now it's a planet of people trying to live their lives. Did take the Confession Dial, didn't like that, but..." She shrugged. "It was an emotional horror show, but we're at a place where things can get BETTER and that's what matters."
"Next. Me? Ignore her. Bunch o' hogwash. She started brilliant, loved Ashildr, but she let go of that part and started rejecting it, and you've known me long enough haven't you? You know how right miserable I get when I start rejecting parts of myself and at least a Time Lord is built for dramatic changes. But then she got obsessed with me. She never looked at the brilliant world around her, never asked why the Doctor kept coming to Earth, just how to deal with all the Earth Dctor things. What she's got is control issues and anytime, anytime she tried to accurately manipulate me? Worked out worst for me and the people around me and she didn't get what she wanted either. When it comes to Me, be kind, don't be cruel, but if she can't be nice, you don't have to be nice back," she said, stealing one of Rose's chips and popping it in her mouth. "At this point, she has to want help to be helped."
"As for you and Ten and River and all that mess..." She hummed, taking a bite of a grilled cheese sandwich. "Okay. Listen. Listen," she said and reached over to Rose's hand. "I love you," she said with a fond smile. "And I love River. You both are important loves. Not the same, though some expression of that love is a little similar. You....you, Rose Tyler, you showed me light I needed again when I had lost it. And River? River showed me someone could be tied so completely with me and reach the end and...and beg to keep it. She was the one I could love after you, and the one who reminded me that I was someone worth loving. You are the one who showed me I could love life again. And River showed me I could like myself again," she said and lifted up Rose's hand, kissing the back of it. "I will love you to the end of my days. And I will love her. And you both being part of my life at the same time is something I'm gonna have to deal with because I have no idea how either of you deal with me being madly in love with someone, but we'll cross that bridge a bit later, yeah?"
"As for Ten not dealing, that face was always an emotional mess, and that's why I was always going la la la," she said, putting her hands over her ears. "As eleven, pretending things were fine. A right mess, I was. Still am, but like I know it's a mess," she lowered her hands. "He needs to face the future and the past, but like....hum. Okay, depends where he is, I think, he's all over. But. But but but. You are not responsible for his mind. You help, but it's not your fault if it goes wrong. Because he has to take responsibility too. I need more information for more helpful advice, sorry, way it goes. I can't even read my own mind sometimes," she said and shrugged.
"I don't know what you want forgiveness for. I don't think you could ever make me worse. I've seen worse. Me prompted a pretty big disaster of a Companion who did make me worse. Made me burn bright, but sometimes that fire got too bright and we started to burn things together. As long as there's not rampant breaking of laws of time and space, it's probably fine," she said with a shrug. "Also you listened a lot of amazing things you're gonna have to show me after I'm caught up to speed and we are DEFINITELY going to be lions in like two months, I want to be sure my legs are right, or I might end up with cat ears."
"As for my team? Oh, they're brilliant. New, but brilliant. Yaz is a police woman, but she wants fair over law. Always good in a police person. Graham is a right granddad, he is, very sensible, very quick to say 'nope, can't be that way,' but then he wants it to be that way because it sounds fun. Ryan seems like he's gonna be that kind who goes 'I'm going to do the thing' and then I'm like 'don't do the thing' and then he goes 'I'm doing it anyway' and then it goes wrong and I say 'I told you,' and then he learns. But he keeps trying, even when he's afraid of failing and I like that. Also people think Yaz is dating like everyone? So she might be a total babe, I can never tell, but she did say I was her friend when asked if we were dating, and I think that's a win," she said, absolutely preening. Less than a week and she's got one calling her friend!

Rose giggled about Rosa Parks and nodded, "I am very proud!"
There's beams over 13 trying the various flavors of everything, still sorting out what foods she likes. It's nice to get to see it this time, not just later when they'd adjusted.
"I like River," Rose said softly over a sip to her crazy straw of Vitex. "But I'm pretty clumsy and I wanted to protect too much and I overreached." A headshake. "Like I said, and every time she hurts, I can't even begin to feel my own emotions, too much worrying about everyone else."
With regards to Me, Rose listened patiently, snorted, and kissed the Doctor's fingers, stealing taste of the chips off them. "I tried to protect her from Ten mostly. I don't have to anymore. But I did get pretty livid when she tried to convince him to saw through his whole timeline to 'fix it.'" Finger quotes and Rose gave the Doctor an intense look, "Do not tell anyone I told you that. Especially her." She shrugged. "I can't even really pity her. Jack held up and he actually dies," Rose growled and her eyes flashed a dangerous angry gold with a muscle twitch in her cheek. And then she laughed about Lady Me having to want to be helped.
"Doctor, she's never wanted to be helped. Ashildr was so obsessed with death and so scared of it she convinced herself that other people's deaths were somehow in her control because she so much as thought of them." A facepalm, and then an armfold as she growled, "And then she basically snapped and tried to convince herself it was a good thing, but she was too cowardly to do anything about it herself. Only good for everyone else? That's madness." More growls. "Like you said. Control issues. She's got the Quantum Shade here too, by the way. Three was pretty livid." A headshake. "She doesn't want to save you though. I think she might have convinced herself that was what it is, that she was morally right trying to manipulate the Doctor to save Clara, but it's not even remotely the case. She wants to absolve guilt she refuses to acknowledge and just blames you for it. It's..." Rose made a rare face of contempt. "I made Jack immortal, yeah? Can you imagine how much I'd kick his arse if he wasn't exactly opposite her? I hate that I did that to Jack, and I can't do anything about it, but at least he became the best thing to happen to the Universe, a superhero to protect it for eons."
Rose started laughing hysterically as 13 tried to reassure Rose that she loved her and River. "Stop stop stop," Rose begged, laughing so hard her ribs hurt. But the rest sank in anyway and her face burned crimson, ear tips going red too. "Doctor..." she whispered. She ruefully shook her head and hid her face. "I'm not... You don't... blimey... I can't do that to River. I appreciate it. I do. But --" she closed her eyes and took a deep breath and sipped her tea. "Okay," she snorted. And glanced sideways, "You handle River. Don't worry about me. I've been spoiled rotten here, I mean it! I'm happy just being around one Doctor. You told me I could spend the rest of my life with you, and you couldn't with me, but now I get to cheat all of that." Her ears were still flaming scarlet, and she couldn't look 13 in the eyes.
Rose nodded quietly about how she wasn't making things worse, how Ten and 11 were always a bit in denial, and then Rose looked back sharply at the Doctor at the mention of Me again and the companion disaster.
"Hybrid."
One word.
Rose's eyes grew sharp on the Doctor's, more serious than the Doctor had ever seen Rose. "You are going to have a hell of a time keeping Rassilon from ganged up on here if he ever comes, you know that, right? Even without Romana knowing what happened, Lady Me, River, and the Master? I just wanted to kick his shins. They're more creative than me and way more hurt personally."
Her eyes softened again.
And then about being lions and cat ears; Rose giggled intensely again, losing all the fierceness. "You and River can be lions. I think she was a sphinx. I can be a unicorn! And a pony. And a wolf. But lion's not my style," she stuck her tongue out the side.
"Definitely great in a police officer," Rose agreed about Yaz with a nod, "Or anyone really." She smiled about Graham. "Sounds like my own Granddad." And then fell into giggles over the description of Ryan.
The descriptions prompted Rose up to cross over to join the Doctor and give her another big hug. "I'm proud of you Doctor. I was so scared. Hybrid. Ashildr. And I went through a lot to find you again," she just hugged her happily. "Sounds completely brilliant." She held a finger over the woman's lips, and gave her a serious expression, "Except for one thing. And I think you know what it is. And Fluffy is going to give you a hard time about it too. Find Jack. If nothing else he needs a friend when his mates die. His team. I know it's hard, but--" Rose kissed the Doctor's cheek, "I believe in you. You can do it."

The Doctor hummed and nodded. "Ah, there. Right there," she said, pointing a fry at Rose. "That's where you messed up. You don't need to protect River. Not really. Not that she doesn't need help, but like ninety-fiver percent of the time, she's real good at seeking it out. A good chunk of the time we met up, she was calling," she said and popped the fry in her mouth before reaching out to pat her hand. "Focus on being her friend first. If she needs help and you can help, chances are she'll ask. Or, well, she'll do a thing so you're involved, but that's basically asking."
Her face falls as Rose talks about Me. Not quite angry. Sadden, down, disappointed. Save for when the Quantum Shade is mentioned and she tsked. "She should have realized that was a double edged sword. With how you're describing this place, there's no point to something like that," she said and sighed, picking up a strip of bacon and taking a harsh bite. She was tapping at the table. "She acts selfishly. It's....it's the most frustrating thing about her. Because there's a lot of time she's shameless about her selfishness, but then she wants to help, to make things right, but she does it in the most selfish, domineering way possible. She doesn't need protection. She needs a good kick in the arse, but nothing actually connects." She picked up a lemonade and takes a sip. "That's why I think it's time for a hands off approach. Don't give her validation. Don't give her attention. Not until she does it on YOUR terms, not hers."
"Yes," she said. Simple and easy. The Hybrid.
Thirteen is silent at the mention of Rassilon. She looks distant, staring at the wall. "I got him exiled from Gallifrey," she said. "I suppose it depends what they want to do and where he's from. He's done....he's done a lot. A lot that's hard to forgive," she said, her hands curling up. "I'm working on it. But they do deserve some justice. As long as it's justice and not revenge." Which is a fine, fine line, but it's why she's working on forgiveness. In case she ever needs to see the difference.
She takes a deep breath and lets it out, eating another biscuit. "But I'd much rather focus on the lion bit. I think I'd be cute? I don't know, I assume short blondes are cute by default? Was always my impression," she said and winked. Never mind Rose wasn't that short, she's just used to being a tree.
"They're brilliant! I think we'll have a lot of fun adventures. Expand our horizons and bond," she said, a happier grin spreading across her face.
She laughed and hugged her back. "Hey, hey, I'm fine. Really. Sure, it took a lot of doing to get here, but....I'm breathing easier. Than I have in a really long time," she said with a fond smile.
She looked confused at the one thing. Then a very sheepish expression. "Well. Eleven was a lot of denial. And Twelve was really busy. He did a lot between Gallifrey, River, and Missy. And I think Me made me a little gunshy of immortal dealings even though I know Jack's always been good about the mayflies. But...it'd be good to see him again. Someone who gets it and doesn't drive me utterly bonkers."

Rose snorted about River. "Oh believe me, I know," she rolled her eyes, "And I wasn't trying to protect her..." She chewed on her bottom lip, "From danger, just Fluffy. And myself." A wince. "Don't take this the wrong way but I can't even figure out if I want to be friends! I'm not biased against archaeologists like Fluffy, but the last one I met got possessed by Satan and I had to shoot ' im into a black hole! We're totally opposite! The only thing we could bond over is you, and we're both used to having to be cagey about secrets and you."
Rose rubbed her temples. "I've no idea what it'll cost me, but even just her being here made me get a place other than the fake TARDIS -- mind, not just because of River, I was dealing with a dying TARDIS to power my cannon and set timelines straight, so waking up without even her soul is terrifying even with Fluffy to keep me steady. And that's the other thing. Between Lady Me and Fluffy... I was really like..." She glanced away. "I'm not your wife, but you tell Fluffy that and he'll want to punch you." Rose face palmed. "It's like I said, yeah? Everyone else's feelings get in the way and I can't even begin to feel mine."
As for Lady Me, Rose nodded slowly, and shook her head. "Everything here is based on will. I'm sure she's convinced herself, or pretends she has, that it's some great big memorial to Clara or a reminder to herself to be responsible but--" Rose growled, "Two years of her telling me and Fluffy how I was nothing compared to Clara. If Jack wasn't here the last year, I really would have snapped." She shook both hands through her hair much like Ten did when he was frazzled. "But to literally will that..." She shook her head with a dark growl, "With luck, 3 will set her right, but I very much doubt it. As it is, he keeps getting on me for trusting the Master too much .... ooooh, blimey did I even mention him?"
Rose shrugged. "I know. About Rassilon. More than... most of them anyway." Rose leaned over, cupped the Doctor's face and kissed her forehead. "I've seen him... traveling the void, yeah? We didn't cross paths, but some of the cyberman stuff had heavy intersections and...." Rose closed her eyes, silently begging, accidentally telepathically projecting, especially as she rested her hand on the Doctor's, {Please don't be mad!}
"When the chaos storms happen, they bring part of what's connected to you. Might have beens from alternate unsustainable unrealities. Or just... other things, um. So you've got one storm with me as a wolf, the Doctor, 9 and 10, as phoenixes, Lady Me as a raven. But there was one storm when I was the... The weapon." Her mouth went dry, and she glanced away. "I don't remember very much of it, but I definitely remember glitches timelines, his faces, and bein' really dismissive of him. And 4 was practically him, he went all evil and dark, but like I said, my memories of it are pretty hazy at best."
Rose got chipper again all the same, "Most of the time, they're really fun! Like I got to be a Pokemon Ranger, and John was my soulmate, and he had a huge fairy gym at the citadel -- oh right! There's a pair of Gallifreys mountains here if you want to see them! Four doesn't. He blocked off all the windows that would even look at them."
"Yeah, you'd be adorable," Rose laughed, lolling her tongue out the side and shaking her head, "What is it with you and blondes? Romana, me, Reinette, River... All R named too! You'll have to be Rachel Smith if you want to keep your theme. Or Rachel Doe works better. Then again.... I'm the only one actually properly R-named, everyone else was nicknamed and cheating, isn't that right?" She pulled the Doctor close, cupping under her chin, and whispered her true name only into her ear, with a sneaky stealing of a muzzle. "So I'm winning. And don't yell at Fluffy for telling me that, it was 9. I was channeling Bad Wolf, and getting lost, so he had to anchor me. I'm fine though, really."
So not telling that she occasionally gave the Master hits of it... at least he appreciated it!
"Mm!" Rose gently nuzzles the Doctor, not caring that she was married. To River. River, who could be really properly scary. Rose would just have to get it out of her system and then it'd be fine. "I don't care what Four, or Jack, or Ianto, or any of 'em, he still needs you. And I can't be there for him, so you'll have to try your best to be.... oohhh two-thirds as good as me?" She gently squeezed her hand, and kissed her nosetip again like before, but this time, knowing full well which Doctor it was. "Start with here, you'll do brilliant, yeah?"
