"Oh, a little bit. You'd be surprised what you could learn just getting out there and experiencing it." He leaves the junkyard, not much checking to see if she followed.

"And it's not junk. Think of it as potential. Fortunately, I parked close."

He is walking toward, and entering sideways, a house black enough that would make vanta black feel discouraged. Inside the walls are black, too, the carpet a bone white. The room itself looks like a sitting room by dint of the rose colored sofa against one wall, but most of the center of the room has been taken up by a console with little divots filled with matching spheres-- though it all seems to be inactive for now.
teamtardis: (That makes no sense)

I got hit by the cuteness bat. It was mistake to watch three episodes at once!

"I'd be less surprised then you think," she said, trying to keep from grinning too hard. "Bit of a traveler myself. How I becane a doctor too." However did River avoid giving things away, making comments like that?

"Potential, huh? Maybe we can make super toast?" She said with humor. Oh, wait, maybe they could? What could super toast do. Maybe be extra crunchy? Oh! No, never get soggy with jam.

Though she almost missteps and drops the ball at the sight before her. She expected blue. Not.....not this. She frowned, looking around as they entered. "You parked a house?" The console seemed about right. The rest wasn't. What happened? Where's the TARDIS?
timeslastsoldier: (hallo)

BETRAAAAYYYY

"Traveling doctor, I like that. Bit of Martha Jones about you." He starts to divest her of things, throwing bits and bobs into various piles seemingly at random.

"Super toast. I like that. But no." He throws the toaster in its own pile.

"Technically it parked itself. I just took advantage of the opportunity. Anyway." He divests her of her last item. "Sphere is yours to keep. Remember what I said about the purring.

Ta!"

And he goes to crouch over one pile and further fine tune his sorting.

"Martha Jones? Well, traveling doctors are always good, I bet she's brilliant," she said.

....wait.

How does HE know Martha Jones?

That was Ten, wasn't it? She was SURE that was Ten.

"Gonna work on that. All the crunch and all the sweet, how toast should be. Like it's always freshly made, too many meals get cold," she said. That's what happens when you run too much.

She raised an eyebrow at that. Wow. WOW. Okay, that is actually really rude. Is she always that rude? She might be.

Oh.

Hm.

Well, something to work on. Maybe.

"What, I don't even get to see what you're working on? Who knows, maybe I can help," she said.
timeslastsoldier: (right)

"She is, was, will be," this is half muttered as he pokes through more things. He lifts his head at the last line. Is she still here? Why?

He rises and takes the strainer from her head.

"You did help. Ta."

He takes her shoulders and turns her toward the door.

"See you around." And goes back to what he was doing.
teamtardis: (Ooooooh!)

"That's an interesting way to put it," she said.

And she turns around, and starts circling the parts, twisting the ball in her hands. Because he gave a ball to a fidgetter. Certainly nothing can go wrong.

"Now I'm curious. Could you just walk away if you got dragged into a project like that? What doctor isn't curious? Brought it on yourself, really."

Oh. She laughed.

"Too much to explain. Probably boring. You wouldn't like it." Though he's intrigued by her energy. There's something about her that piques his interest, but he can't tell what it is. Maybe it's her style or the way she keeps fiddling with the sphere or the earring. Stars with a chain leading to joining hands. The idea is familiar, like a word on the tip of his tongue he's forgotten.

Then the sphere starts purring.

"Right." He stands once more, plucks the sphere from her hand as the purr starts to get more violent and the sphere turns white hot. He juggles it from hand to hand and wings it out the door just in time. It explodes in a burst of violent light, close enough to make things in house shudder.

"Well--" He turns back toward her and then hears another purr, and another, and another."Oh, Belgium."
teamtardis: (Is that an adventure?!)

[personal profile] teamtardis 2018-11-03 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
"Lies and slander. This is the face of someone whose never been bored," she said, pointing to her face. Which, well, it was true. A whole week, no boredom. It might actually be a record. "I bet I would love it. Might even keep u-"

Except the purring started.

Oh, whoops. Right. The fidgeting. But it seems the old boy has it, and that is quite the explosive he gave to a woman he thought was easily bored. Rude.

And then there's more purring. She turns. "Oh," she said and then she's moving. "All the same? If there's different, tell me now!" She asked, but she's already picking up balls and gathering them up into her arms.
timeslastsoldier: (wtf)

He bends up a metal bucket. "All the spheres. In the bucket. Now." Don't mind him getting a bit imperious. He's tossing more in himself.

"Stay here."

He bolts outside, slamming the door. There's another massive explosion and this time it's as if there's a minor earthquake.

But everything's fine.

You know.

Probably.
