Leia had been on her way to the med bay when she spotted the little girl. Though a good bit lower tech than the restraints generally used in her galaxy, the collar and shackles as well as the girl's obvious anxiety and the fact that she was looking for her 'Master' added up to only one thing in her mind; the girl was a slave.

She squelched the surge of anger and outrage such a thought produced, pushing those feelings to the back of her mind. They would likely only frighten the girl, especially if she thought they were directed at her. She could be angry later. Instead she allowed compassion and concern to take the fore as she approached the girl.

"Are you alright there, little one?", she asked.

Fufufu. Raphtalia bringing all the moms to the yard. XD

Raphtalia almost tripped when she heard Leia's voice, stopping short and giving her a wide eyed, unsure glance. Adults - particularly adult -humans- weren't always the nicest towards demihumans where she's from, though Raphtalia had an inkling she wasn't anywhere near Melromarc. Which was incredibly worrying! "I... um..." She fidgeted a little, and gave a slow nod, tense as she gave the other woman a careful glance over, not entirely sure she could be trusted. Sure she SOUNDED nice but that .. didn't always mean they -were- nice.

She really does. XD But how could she not, really?

Leia was no Jedi, but still did her best to project a calming presence with both the Force and her body language. Though she wasn't very tall to begin with, she still got down on one knee to be more on the little girl's level and to make herself less potentially threatening.

"My name's Leia," she said gently. "What's yours?"

With Leia being closer to her level kneeling like that, and that natural mom-like calming aura, some of the fluffedup-ness of Raphtalia's tail started to smooth down again, "...Raphtalia." She offered just as quietly, still looking a bit hesitant, but not like she was going to bolt at the nearest opportunity. So far.

"It's nice to meet you, Raphtalia," Leia said gently. "And that's a lovely name, by the way."

"I'm guessing that you probably have a lot of questions, like where you are now and how you got here," she said. "But before we tackle those big questions, you look like you could use a bite to eat. And maybe a nice cup of tea too; I know a good cup of tea always makes me feel a little better in scary situations. Does that sound alright to you?"

She smiled slightly, a little shy, "..Thank you." All those questions were certainly in her head and were probably going to keep flying over her head- they were big questions and she was a little girl! But food was universal. Her ears perked up at the thought of a decent meal and something to drink, but she glanced around, "Um I... should wait for Master Naofumi. If I'm here then he would be here too." Why would something drag her and not an actual hero?

"Actually, most people arrive here alone," Leia said. "But if he does turn up here too, I don't think he'll have a difficult time finding you. There's no one else around here with such cute ears or a tail like yours, so all he'd need to do is ask around a little." Whether or not they would allow him to take custody of the little girl again when he did, that was very much another story, but she doubted it would take any reasonably intelligent person long to locate some as distinctive as Raphtalia in Nautilus.

"Besides," she said, "you can wait in the med bay just as easily as you can out here. And in the med bay there's a kitchen, and the ingredients for the pancakes that a very good friend of mine taught me how to make."

Raphtalia looks a little uneasy at the thought of being alone, but Leia does make a good point if she's the only demihuman here. So if Master Naofumi wasn't here, she should then at least survive until he was. She glanced back at Leia with a bit more open curiosity, "Med Bay? What's a Med Bay? Is the name of a tavern?"

Leia chuckled slightly. "No," she said. "The med bay is a place people go to for healing when they're ill or badly hurt. My friend pretty much runs it, and I help out there sometimes. It has a kitchen in case there are any patients there who need to stay overnight or longer; that way meals can be made for them right there, instead of having to go elsewhere. And the kitchen is also very handy for when people working there get hungry or want a cup of hot tea too."

Ahhh, so it was populated with healers. She nodded sagely at Leia's explanation, her tail swishing from side to side idly as this made good sense to her. Also..tea... "I've had tea before. You use plants to make it, right?"

Leia nodded. "Yes," she said. "Most commonly the leaves of one specific tree, but there're many other plants that can be combined with it or used on their own to make tea. Some have medicinal properties, but most of them just taste good. My favorite kind is called Gatalentan tea, after the place where it comes from."
