Katenka || Original Character || OTA
While she's seen rivers and the like out the window of her wagon, Katenka has never been allowed to venture out towards them. She cannot swim, after all, and the twelve year old is not particularly athletic looking. Still, she can't help being drawn to the beach in this strange place she's arrived in, breathing in deeply the smell of the salty air, the thick humidity of summer. Carefully, the light haired girl walks towards the ocean's edge, mesmerized by the sight.
So lost in her thoughts, she almost doesn't notice the other person on the beach. When she catches sight of them, she straightens up as if caught doing something wrong, expression carefully neutral. Smoothing out her dress, she speaks politely, with a New England accent.
"Pardon me, I didn't see you. Would you happen to know where we are?"

When it hits her what she's lost, Katenka drops all decorum and begins running around, lifting up her skirts to keep from tripping on them. She had it when she arrived, she's sure of that. Did she drop it? Did she put it down? It scarcely matters; such powerful magic needs to be kept away from unknowing people who might misuse it, accidentally or otherwise. Panic starts to rise up in her as she bolts through the city streets, retracing her steps at a brisk pace, a blur of white clothes and white hair and wide eyes.
The second she finds someone, she forgets entirely her own lack of speaking skills and anxiety and grabs ahold of them by the arm, face a portrait of fear. "Please - have you seen a box? A black wood box, with golden snakes painted onto it in spiraling patterns? It's very important!"
3. Network
H... hello? [When not on the spot or motivated by danger, she finds speaking is difficult, but the little radio she's found intrigues her, and she fiddles with it. This place is vast, bigger than anywhere she's ever been before in her life. Now that Katenka has found her hard-fought for freedom, she finds it more confusing than elating.] My name is Katenka, or Trinket, if you prefer. I, ah, I don't know where I am. I need a place to stay. I know that's a lot to ask, but please, I need to stay out of sight. There's... there's someone I need to stay away from who might have followed me here, wherever here is. Please, can someone tell me where I could go to stay safe?
[Unaware she's on video, she doesn't know to hide the fear or tiredness in her face and eyes. She's obviously younger, maybe twelve years of age, with a tension to her demeanor that suggests this is just as serious as it sounds. For a moment her eyes glisten as if with tears, but she takes a deep breath, collects herself and hits the off button on the video.
Time to get moving. If no one else will save her, she will save herself. She always does.]

Hello, Katenka. I am Baymax, a personal healthcare companion.
There is a Welcome House in each district where those who are newly arrived in Nautilus may stay free of charge. If you can tell me your current location, I can direct you to the nearest one. I will also send a map of the city to your communication device.
Or alternately, you can come to the medical bay located in the Northern District. Unlike the Welcome Houses, we cannot provide permanent accommodations, but it is a safe place to stay on a temporary basis.

Good to meet you, Baymax.
I appear to be near a beach of some kind. It's not really marked by any signs, but I suppose with a map I could manage. [She has never used a map in her life, but hey, how hard can it be? And even if she can't follow it, it'll give her a clue on how many open areas there are around here that she needs to avoid.]
Medical bay? Is that like a hospital? I'm not hurt beyond a few scrapes and bruises; please don't worry about me.
no subject
I cannot worry; I am a robot. You asked for a safe place and implied that an individual may arrive who will threaten you with bodily harm; the medical bay is equipped additional security measures that the Welcome Houses may not have.
If you are near the beach, then you are in the Eastern District. One moment...
[A moment passes, and then her communication device beeps cheerfully, indicating an incoming message. Upon checking it, she'll see that it contains a handy map of Nautilus and the original introductory guide.]
Have you received the message I have sent?
