PROMPTS
Prompt A: Chinese New Year Storm - It's the Year of the Rat and the city is celebrating the holiday. Many different activities and food for everyone. You can even adopt a pet mouse if you want. Children can get red envelopes filled with a small amount of whatever currency their world uses. Have fun!

Prompt B: Cupid War Storm - A war has broken out between cupids and dark cupids, fighting to either spread love (Cupids) or hatred (Dark Cupids). The cupids are the ones with white wings and love arrows, while the Dark Cupids are the ones with black wings and dark rose-ended arrows. Is your character one of the cupids or is the poor person stuck in the crossfire of the war?

Prompt C: Wildcard - Is your character trying to learn bending? Posting on the network about something on their mind? Or is your character just first Awakening? Either way, have a go at it.

"Wait. The guy from the Queen song?"

This place was so weird.

"I mean, technically?"

How had they changed conversation topic this fast? Nita had whiplash...

"He seemed familiar with a pair of brothers with the last name Winchester; don't suppose you know of them either?"

At least none of the cupids had taken notice of these two just standing around talking.

Hanging out with Beetlejuice often gave people whiplash. And sometimes the creeps, depending on the demon's mood.

"They're from that show, Lyds and I made fun of it." Beetlejuice leaned against a wall with a sigh. He missed Lydia.

"Eh, fair enough."

Nita didn't know much more about them, herself.

Now, what to do, what to do...

"If you really want to help these guys get back to normal, we can trick them into running through the Gate to Helix, or Kalliste."

Maybe that would work.

He bounced on his toes for a moment. "I don't actually care if they're back to normal, s'long as they stop trying to shoot me."

Priorities, Nita.

"If getting them through a Gate gets them to stop doing that, sure."

Honestly, that was fair.

"Follow me, then."

Maybe demons wouldn't react well to teleporting, but once they had a cupid's attention all they'd need is speed...

Teleportation was common for Beetlejuice back home. At least, once he was summoned and had access to all of his powers. He was a chaotic being, to say the least.

"Right-o."

Truthfully, he still felt his fire idea was a good one. Self-defense was obviously the argument to use. But, an entire city breathing down his neck didn't sound all that appealing, despite whatever bravado Beetlejuice might put out there.

For the one, he'd have to work at getting his powers back. For the other...

Nita sighed. "Take my hand, I can make this faster."

Both with the hand-holding, and with the skin contact reducing the chance of leaving him behind.

His hand didn't feel like a living person's hand, but, it wasn't overly "corpsey" either, at least. Beetlejuice took her hand in his, marking a mental tally on the very short list of people who requested physical contact from him.

He decided to just roll with it.

To her credit, Nita didn't cringe; she just charged forward as soon as she heard someone start calling, "HEY, LOVEBIRDS, STAND STILL!"

Rolling with it was probably the smartest method; Beetlejuice wouldn't get much time for anything else.

"Make sure they keep following us!" she shouted back at him.

With his free hand he flipped the cupid the bird. "A guy marries ONE underage girl ONE time as a GREEN CARD thing, and he's branded forever. It wasn't a real wedding."

If they weren't following before, they are now.

Both light AND dark cupids, now. Way to go, BJ.

"Do I even want to know?"

A rhetorical question, that, but if they kept the banter up all the way to Helix they'd probably make it, right?

"How was it NOT a real wedding?"

Because obviously that's the real question here.

"Because, it was just a way for me to become alive. Spoiler, didn't go well. At all."

"Hell wasn't a fun place, huh?"

Which sounded odd to shout, but there you go. That was Nita's life right now.

"The Netherworld is full of dead people and goes on for an infinity. And it's run by my mom. It's the exact opposite of fun, all right."

A shrug. "But, I meant being alive. It sucked. Well. Mostly getting stabbed sucked. Buuuut, the emotions thing was not great."

"Eeesh."

Nita made a quick check; they were, indeed, still being followed.

"I wouldn't want the Lone Power as my mom, that's for sure.

"And yeah, I could imagine."

Mostly on the whole 'emotions backed by hormones suck' deal.

He gave one of the cupids a flirty glance.

"Not sure what a Lone Power is. The Netherworld is full of bureaucracy and paperwork. She's not actually Satan. He'd be nicer."

That also mades them run faster; Nita started to feel the telltale whoosh of arrows missing them.

"Inventor of Death and Entropy. All around suckmaster," she added, for flavor.

"I believe you about the paperwork, though!"

"Oi, what's wrong with death?"

"You ever been in the blast range of a supernova? It kinda fundamentally shaped reality. For better and worse," Nita allowed.

"I'm a demon. Reality is like silly putty. But, uh, that star that's named for me might go supernova in a few thousand years, that might be cool to see."

"The Lone Power doesn't have nearly as much of a sense of humor as you do, then," Nita said, ducking her head and pouring on the speed.

"We've got our Gate incoming!"
