[The communicator flicks on to show...a robot, and a large one at that. And this one seems to be...a mix of confused and worried.]

Lady...?

Boss? Deckerd? Where is everyone?

[He'd obviously gotten separated from his team. Not exactly sure how, but...]

This is Duke of the Brave Police, I require information about this place!

... Brave Police?

[Duke, congratulations, you've caught the ninjabird in a rare moment of "Hi I Left Helix Today". Because it's not the comm he's showing up on.]

[He's right behind you. On top of that building there. All shadowed and creepy-looking.]

[Duke immediately turns at the sound of that voice, looking for the source of it. And when he sees the sillouette...]

S-Shadowmaru??

[An easy mistake to make, really. You're kind of in the dark there, bro.]

[He's just standing there, looming, and making an effort to be as intimidating as possible. If this one is looking for the Brave Police, then he can't want anything good. He might even want to kill him.]

[... except Shadowmaru's name completely obliterates the attempt at intimidation.]

[His head actually snaps around, looking over his shoulder as if he expects the other ninja to be standing behind him or something.]

Shadow--

[... oh. He's not there.]

He's not here!

[wingears]

[The intimidation would be slightly effective if not for that. When the ninja turns his head, Duke tilts his own, cuing the confusion.]

W-What? You are not Shado-

[That voice WAS different, now that he mentions it. And the wings...]

Who are you?!

[And it's time to regain his composure. Sort of. He turns back around, straightening up.]

[No, it's definitely not Shadowmaru. And this one... knows him.]

[There's an emphasis on that last letter. Like he's daring the stranger to ignore it.]

I've...never heard of you.

[His helm dips down in thought. No...he doesn't remember you in the Brave Police lineup. But he was new and adjusting...]

[Weird. Why is he asking about Japan's Brave Police...? Weren't there only one group of them?]

[He steps forward then, so he's less shadowed. And so the very similar design of his frame can be better seen.]

[Duke's eyes can't help but widen. That was...that was Shadowmaru's body. Or...very similar at least. He notes the few differences, mainly in wings and colour.]

But why would they erase you? Wouldn't two stealth bots be useful to the Brave Police??

[His expression doesn't change. It's calm, remote, hiding everything he possibly can. ... inside, he's panicking a little. What's going to happen to him now?]

Because the human beings in charge decided there was no more use for their rough draft.
