Merlin, is it? I knew someone with that name, once. Or rather, it was a name that was once his, but he gave it up long before I knew him.

[He shakes his head and forces himself to stop thinking about the memories.

Not at the moment, no. But if we are here, I am sure that there is a purpose in it.

No. I do not think it is, at that. [His tone is slightly amused, as if he were silently laughing at a joke only he understood.]

There might be many purposes. For every force has its own, whether it be for good or ill. But so long as there is a purpose to it, I will not worry.
