A giant elephant skeleton in a bad-looking place under a red sky...shouldn't seem surprising since it'd be normal in a sense. It was more being beside it when he knew he wasn't home.

Where was the palace? What was this place? And was it somehow tied to the humans?

Augustus didn't venture out to the Western District often. With his limited bending skills and this place being home to the more lethal monsters, he didn't take the chance. Though there were times he had to. This being one of them as he was off to see if he could get more notes on the elusive owner of the Western Welcome House.

He was passing by the giant elephant skeleton when he spotted someone. They were shorter than him, but not too much so. A robed figure with glowing red eyes. Well, that certainly wasn't something you saw every day. The Siamese ventured a bit closer. Was it a Wakened or one of the cities monsters?

Time to see. "Hello?"

"Hi."

Looking at the cat, Sirus hesitated to ask anything else yet. He was confused and had questions still, but he was the one who had been approached, so maybe he should wait to see why.

"So, you waiting for the rest of your cult members for worshiping the giant skeleton?" Augustus asked with a smirk. With the logic of this place, he wouldn't be surprised if he was right.

     Oh, it wasn't all that bad, now was it? It simply made it appear like it was eternally dawn...or sunset. One or the other. And he rather liked the giant skeleton there, not only because it provided a point of reference whenever he wished to direct people to his cottage.

     The 7-foot skeleton was tactful enough not to appear directly behind the newcomer, but he seemed to overlook the fact that not many were at ease when coming across Death himself, especially when Awakening here. Not that it had stopped him before.

     OFFERING A WELCOME ISN'T ALWAYS WELCOME IN ITSELF, came the voice that held about as much impact in tone as granite slabs against lead. BUT NEVERTHELESS, IT SEEMS MOST APPROPRIATE IN SUCH A CASE, I THINK.

Where he came from, the sky only looked like that because the moon had crashed into the planet. So it kinda was that bad.

Red eyes blinked under the hood as they focused on the skeleton. Skeletons moving weren't so unusual, because undead monsters were pretty common. But greeting him was a bit out of the ordinary and Sirus tilted his head. Maybe this was either a different kind of monster, or not one at all.

"Uh, thanks...I think. Who are you?"

     It was always a plus when the unwitting recipients of his greetings didn't greet him in turn with a scream. The Reaper grinned, not that this was something of much choice for him. He offered a polite nod.

     TO PUT IT SIMPLY, I AM DEATH. -AND BEFORE YOU ASK, NO, YOU HAVE NOT DIED THAT I HAVE COME TO COLLECT YOU.

     He gestured with a bony hand.

     WHAT YOU SEE AROUND YOU IS THE WESTERNMOST DISTRICT OF THE CITY OF NAUTILUS.

"Oh. Well that's good." He still had a few things to do before he died. Pulling off his hood and twitching his ears. "So why are you hanging around this Nautillus place if you aren't here for someone?"

     Death tilted his head at the other.

     WHY, THE SAME AS YOU. I HAVE BEEN CALLED HERE, JUST AS THE OTHERS YOU WILL COME ACROSS IN THIS PLACE, he explained.

Humans or not, there were none present by the time Sonic caught sight of the strange newcomer. The hedgehog had decided to take a stroll in the outskirts of the city and spotted someone unfamiliar.

As a rule of thumb, he decided to greet the stranger with a friendly wave from afar. "Yo!"
