[Kirito couldn't help but smile himself at the stranger's enthusiasm. His response, however, only served to confuse him more. Nautilus? He'd never heard of a floor with that name before. And the more he thought about it, the terrain was a little too varied. A game would recycle assets, to reduce transfer speeds and hard drive space.]

[One way to be sure, and he hoped the large stranger wouldn't take offense. He walked to the nearest tree, took in a sharp breath, then swung his fist forward. It hurt, but it would do the same in Aincrad. But in Aincrad, the system would have given him an "IMMORTAL OBJECT" error. Instead, when a tiny piece of bark chipped away, he realized the truth.]

Nautilis... isn't in Aincrad.

[He turned back to... he'd only just met him, but he had to be more than an NPC, at this point, and it now seemed rude to not treat him as such. (He was a little numb to the shock that, yes, the giant robot in front of him was completely real. That'll probably catch up to him eventually.)]

Do you know why I'm here? And, um... what should I call you? [He's almost kind of adorable to Kirito, but it's probably a good rule to let the giant robot be called whatever he wants.]

[Watching Kirito, the Giant was a little surprised to see him suddenly try and hit a tree. Had he said something wrong?

He leaned forward a little, head tilting again. This person was new, and confused apparently. That was how it usually was for people that found themselves in the city, the overgrown robot included. But it didn't seem like the boy below him was upset so much as confused.]

...caall mee...Giiiaaant.

[Said Giant gestured towards himself with a massive hand. He then gave a brief look around as he considered the previous question.]

Giant, eh? [If everything else hadn't, that cinched it. If he'd been some kind of SAO boss, he would've had some moniker attached to the front, like "Fearsome" or "Unbreakable".]

...why? [Not that a whole lot of this made sense, but something else was incredibly odd. He rubbed the leather of his Blackwyrm Coat between his fingers. It was somehow real now, as well...?] And if I'm not in the game anymore, why do I still have my armor?

[It takes a moment for the "not in the game" to sink in. If he's not logged in, then...] I... did I die?

[He shook his head. "Why?" was starting to push out of his league when it came to question-answering. However the questions to follow were even more confusing. Was he asking him, or was the boy talking to himself?]

[The Giant fingered his chin as he peered at Kirito.]

[He hadn't actually realized it was saying all of that out loud, as he was feverishly trying to sort out what had happened. He bit his lower lip, knowing that trying to explain the VRMMORPG in general, and the death game that Sword Art Online had become specifically, was difficult in the very best of circumstances.]

The game is where I was before I got here. [Though that begs another question, and one he's sure his large friend could answer.] Are there others here?

[The Giant wasn't sure he understood what the boy meant by that. Games were something to be played, weren't they? But how could anyone have been there?

At least the question that followed was easier to handle. He nodded at that. There were lots of others here!]

[Sadly, Kirito... well, Kazuto could probably ramble at length about how the entire process working, seeing as he'd been obsessed with the NervGear technology and game design, but probably even the most technically minded person would get bored after a few minutes.]

[Then it hit him all at once, the growling of his stomach probably loud enough for the Giant to hear at so far a distance. While the game simulated the taste and smell of real food, he'd not had an actual meal in almost a year.]

Um... [He glanced back over his shoulder.] Is that pizza place actually open?

[It would have only confused the Giant even more, but it seemed that he was saved video game talk.

The sound that the boy made even without speaking did draw a curious look from the robot. He followed Kirito's glance towards the pizza place.

Unfortunately he wasn't any more knowledgeable when it came to such places, so he shrugged a little. But then he was sure he'd seen people go in, now and then, so clearly it was...]
